A/N: This is my first Veronica Mars story, so I might be off with the characterization. Please read and review and let me know what you think.

She doesn't know if she should be surprised or not when she sees him standing towards the edge. She hasn't been back up here since the night it happened, and so many memories come flooding back to her.

She slowly makes her way to the edge where he's just staring out into the open. She comes and stands next to him.

He acknowledges her by looking down at her and giving her a tiny nod.

"How long have you been up here?" she asks after a while turning to look at him.

"Don't know." He answers not looking back at her.

"Have you eaten anything today?" she asks still looking at him.

"No." he replies, finally turning to look at her.

She sighs, and stares out beyond the horizon.

She thinks about the last time she was out here. She had thought her father was dead. She had found out who raped her. She had solved the big bus crash mystery. She had let a boy jump to his death.

She's interrupted from her thoughts when Dick finally speaks. "Logan told me what happened."

She turns to look at him, confused.

"He told me what Bea…Cassidy did to you at Shelly Pomroy's party." Dick clears up.

"Oh." Is all she says before she goes back to looking over the roof.

"I'm really sorry Veronica." He says as he continues to stare at her.

"If you're expecting me to say its okay, then you're expecting the wrong thing." Veronica says as she turns away from the view and stares at him.

"I'm not." Dick says putting up his hands in defense.

"I didn't think Cassidy would actually go through with it." He admits.

"Yeah, well, he did." Veronica answers back.

"And, I'm sorry that I ever suggested the idea." He says.

Veronica nods, and leans over the roof and continues to look at the view. Dick mimics her and neither talks for a while.

"You know, me and my dad used to have contests to see who could make Cassidy cry first." Dick admits, his voice strained.

"Why?" she asks, looking at him.

"It was something to do. Its how me and my dad bonded. We'd mess with Cassidy."

"It's not your fault Cassidy killed all those people on the bus." She says.

"How can you be so sure?" he asks, his voice cracking.

"Dick, as much as you and your dad taunted him, Cassidy blew up the bus because he was molested by Woody Goodman. And you had nothing to do with that." She replied.

He turns to look at her, eyes slightly red, "Do you think…" he starts.

"Do you think we'll be able to be friends one day?" he asks, sniffing slightly.

She gives him a small smile. "If I weren't your friend, I wouldn't be here talking to you right now."

"I can certainly see what Logan sees in you, besides the hotness, that is." Dick says, cracking a small smile.

"Okay," Veronica says, "and with that note, I'm leaving."

"Aww, c'mon Ronnie, I was just kidding. Can't you even take a joke?" he asks as she walks away from the edge, and walks towards the stairwell.

"Goodbye Dick." She says, as she walks away, leaving him with a grin on his face.

"She sooo wants me." Dick says to himself as he follows after her.

A/N 2. Well…I know it was short, but, I just got this idea all of a sudden, and I felt that this was a good place to end it. I would love to hear what you thought. I love constructive criticism. Thanks for reading!
