"Are we okay?" Daniel made sure, resting a hand on Vala's shoulder. The two of them had gotten into a spat recently and they were currently trying to mend things between them. Vala nodded expressionlessly, her eyes holding his unwaveringly. Daniel stared back, waiting for more of a reaction.

"I can't read wood, Vala," he told her exasperatedly after a moment. The ex-con's lips quirked and she ducked her head, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear and glancing up slightly to catch the linguist's expression. He shook his head, amused. Vala's smile widened into a soft grin as she jerked a thumb behind her.

"I gotta…go…promised Sam I'd…" she said awkwardly. Daniel smiled back.

"It's okay. I've got some stuff I need to work on."

The two friends parted, Daniel turning a one-eighty to see Cameron standing behind him with crossed arms, a cocked eyebrow and a grin.

"That's a good sign," he commented. Daniel frowned.

"What is? That she made up an excuse to get away? I wouldn't think so," he huffed, walking past the colonel. Cam kept in step with him.

"No, no, the hair thing."

Daniel scrunched up his face, giving Cam a confused look. Cam mimed brushing a piece of hair behind his ear.

"Plus the smile and the look she gave you."

"The almost…shy look?" Daniel clarified. "Which was kinda strange…"

Cam nodded. "Exactly. It's all in the eyes and hair with women, Jackson."

Daniel gave the colonel his most incredulous expression. "Eyes and hair?" he repeated. Cam nodded again.

Daniel stopped, staring at Cam wonderingly. "And how would you know?"

Cam's smiled snapped off and he glared at the archeologist. "Hey! What are you implying?"

Daniel laughed, walking by the offended man. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing."
