"Evans, please, just once?"
"Ok, once, if you stop asking me all the time!"
"Sure. I will never again bother you if you don't want to...", James said, rolling his eyes.
Next day, in Hogsmeade...
James was standing in the middle of the street, smiling at her. She smiled back, slightly.
"Well... Where should we go?", She said.
"Get something to drink?"
"Sure, we go to 'the Three Broomsticks' then?"
They walked down the street and then came into the small bar. James asked Lily to sit down while he got them something. When he came back he sat down right in front of her.
"So...", James said.
"Er... Well... You finally wanted to go out with me then."
"One time, James.", Lily said warningly. "How come Sirius and the others in your gang isn't here spying at us?"
"They know how import... I mean, they know that we don't want them hanging over our shoulders."
They sat there for a long time.
"When is the next game of quiddich then?", Lily asked.
"In a week or so, I think.", James replied.
"Think? You think? You are in the team, you should know!"
"Er... Yeah, maybe.", James said, blushing slightly.
(How sweet he is when he does that... No! Don't think that way!)
Damn it, I'm really wasting this.
They had finished their drinking now.
"Should we go back to school then?"
"Yeah... Guess so."
They got up, and went back up to the castle.
"Well..." James said. "This is it. From now on, I will never bother you again."
He kissed her gently. She didn't return it.
"Oh, right. See you in class, I guess.", Lily said, blushing slightly, but turning away.
Later that day, in the library...
Lily spun around in the chair, surprised to see Lupin standing there.
"Yes?", She said, slowly.
Lupin took a seat at the table.
"James is... Well, not taking this so good...", He said, looking worried.
"What do you mean?", She said quickly.
"He doesn't even want to talk to me and Sirius. And he has locked himself in the astronomytower..."
"I think that he always thought that you had some feeling for him, but now that you had your... er... date, and you don't even return his kiss..."
"He told you about that?"
"We saw it. We were up the stairs."
They sat silent for a while.
"What's he doing up there?", Lily said, finally breaking the silence.
"We don't know, but he have barricaded the door."
"Look like it'll be me going up to get him in again then?"
"Yeah. Figured that you could help... But first, one thing."
"What?" Lily said, already on her way.
"Do you really have no feelings for James?"
"Ok! Damn it, I like him then!", She said.
"Quiet in the library!", They heard a voice.
Lily ran up the stairs. Lupin came a few steps after.
"James!", She said, as she came to the door, knocking it hard.
"Now you want me to go away?"
"Yes, it's me you prat!", She said, angrily.
The door opened slightly, and James looked in. Lily bent the door open, and walked out to him.
She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him.
