Saix looked out of the window in Addled Impasse, staring at Kingdom Hearts; his eyes glazed over, in thought.

Saix knew the boy was coming. The complete Roxas... Sora, the keyblade's new master. It was going to be soon...

One of them was destined to die. This the diviner knew for a fact. That he was the one about to die... This he guessed.

Havoc's Divide was silent... the sounds of battle faded away not more than mere minutes ago, and he was sure that it was Luxord who had perished in battle, because the boy's light still shone brightly.

It was only the Superior and himself left now... He knew that even if he died, their goal would be attained. Xemnas would see to that, this Saix also knew.

Saix turned and summoned his weapon as he heard footsteps echoing through the corridor, knowing who it would be. The boy... "Only you could have made it this far in one piece, Roxas."

"He's Sora!" The ridiculous duck and dog retorted, stepping protectively in front of the keybearer. Saix held forth the blade that served as his weapon, snapping the deadly spikes into existance. One of them was about to die...

"Different name, same fate." He swung the blade, using his power to blast back all those he deemed unworthy... Surprisingly the duck and dog managed to remain inside the barrier...

As soon as Sora had landed the first hit, he knew that he would be the one to die here. And he realized he had left things unsaid, undone, not out of fear, but because of orders and missions. The goal was within sight, but he would never see it finalized, become real. He had wasted all this time believing...

He should have done it on his own... Should have run like Axel and Roxas, ran for his goal... But it was too late now, he knew that. He would never have his heart.

Even so... in the pain of death, he couldn't help but ask... "Kingdom Hearts... Where is... my heart?"

Long ago he believed that having no heart meant no feelings, no pain. But as he faded he knew the truth: His soul was what ached.
