The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
by Sora Jade

Very very very VERY angsty. I don't own Digimon. There WILL be a sequel to this, so bear with me.

A wolf crept through the thick underbrush of the lush green forest. Muscles pulcing under the thick grey hide he wore, he lifted his nose to the mother moon and scented the wind. He could smell plump goats and sheep two feilds over, but that was not what he had come for.
Then her smell slid in with the others. She always smelled the same, of lush lilacs and spring-time roses. He remembered one night not so long ago, when in the heat of passion they had gone to far, and he had run in fear.
Now he had gathered enough wits to go back to her, if she would have him.
She was not far away, little more then a mile in fact, nestled in that abandoned cabin they had found. He reached the pourch and pawed open the door.

The heart is a lonely hunter,
With only one desire,
To find some lasting comfort,
In the arms of a lover's fire.

He saw her imediately, sitting with her back to the door, outlined in the blazing fire that now roared in the hearth. He was about to go to her, when *he* stepped into the room. The wolf growled, it was his rival for her affection, the one thing that stood between him and pure bliss.
*He* sat down beside her, and she raised her face to him, sighing in contentment.
Terror filling his eyes at the sight of his love attending to another, and not wanting to see more, the wolf turned and ran blindly into the woods.

Driven by a desperate hunger,
In the dark of a neon night,
Oh the heart is a lonely hunter,
When there's no sign of love in sight.

Collapsing at the edge of a clearing, tears filling his azure eyes, Matt raised his face to the moonlight, and howled.

The heart is a lonely hunter,
With only one desire.

Yes the heart is a lonely hunter,
When there's no sign of love in sight.
