The river shone with gold and silver peaks as it bubbled past the two teenagers on its grassy banks. She was laying on her side, eyes closed, listening to it's passing gurgle and the drone of the low voice of her best friend.
His hair hung in the two usual sheets of black covering most of his face as he read, "-without which, pouring too much of the Nimuli will cause the mixture to thicken and its appearance will turn muck-like." He paused and looked up from the textbook in his lap into the river beyond. "You know, I thought about that, but it's a good way to keep coherence because the radish tip makes the potion fragment for final proofing doesn't it?"
"M-hum." The beautiful girl at his side murmured a sleepy reply.
The boy stopped reading and stared down at her for several long moments.
She did not stir.
"Lily? You're so kind. No one has ever been as nice to me as you…Your beautiful face, I want to tell you that, I knew I loved you from the first time I ever saw you playing in on our street alone. I'll never forget your smile. You understand me more than anyone else in the world." The wind picked up around them and the grass seemed to lap it up in encouragement to continue. The black haired boy leaned down close to her pearly face and whispered so only she could hear.
"I love you." He stated. He had said it so many times before but never so close to her like this. "Lily? I dedicate my life you. Until the day I die I will protect-"
She stirred and mumbled.
"Hm? Did you say something Sev?" She smiled and her green eyes opened through her long red lashed up at him, asking to continue.
"No." He said.
And he turned back to the book at hand.
