A young boy of about 5 sat on the living room floor playing with his toys. Looking up at the older man sitting on the couch lost in thought, the boy asked, "Daddy? Tell me again how mommy died. Please?"

James looked at the little boy, a smile creeping onto his lips. The little boy, his little Harry, looked exactly like him, except for the eyes. He had Lily's eyes. Sadly, James picked up the little boy and took him into the other room where he carefully tucked him into bed and started to sing in a soft, soothing melody.

"Oh where, oh where can my baby be?

The lord took her away from me.

She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,

So I can see my baby when I leave this world!

"We were out on date in my daddy's carr,

We hadn't driven very far.

There in the road, straight ahead,

A car was stalled, the engine was dead.

I couldn't stop so I swerved to the right.

I'll never forget the sound that nite.

The screamin' tires, the bustin' glass,

The painful scream that I heard last!

"Oh where, oh where can my baby be?

The lord took her away from me.

She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,

So I can see my baby when I leave this world!

"When I woke up, the rain was pourin' down.

There were people standin' all around.

Something warm flowin' through my eyes,

But somehow I found my baby that nite.

I lifted her head, she looked at me and said,

'Hold me darling just a little while!'

I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss,

I found the love that I knew I had missed.

Well now she's gone, even though I hold her tight!

I lost my love, my life, that nite.

"Oh where, oh where can my baby be?

The lord took her away from me.

She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,

So I can see my baby when I leave this world!"

Yawning, Harry said, "I miss her daddy!"

"I know, I miss her too! Now go to sleep, Harry," replied James.

"Good nite daddy! I love you!"

James just bowed his head and whispered, "I love you, too, my son!"
