"How are you?"

"Do you feel okay?"

"I feel fine"

The room became unbearably silent. Greg fiddled with his jacket zipper while he sat as still as possible on the love seat. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with Nick, it didn't make any sense. For the last few weeks he had barely spoken to him, in fact he had taken great leaps to avoid him, it had been five days before he could finally corner his boyfriend in his house, this hadn't been the most productive visit he could hope for though.

"I already have plans tonight."

"You have to leave right now?"

"Unless you want me to be late"

"No, we can't have that."

"What is it?"

"Excuse me?"

"Why won't you talk to me?"

"I'm talking to you right now."

"No, your not"

"What do you call what I'm doing now?"

"Making excuses."

"I'm not"

"Tell me what's wrong"

"Tell me what's wrong"

"I can't"

"Stop asking"

"Fine, I'm leaving"

"Shut up"

"Tell me what's wrong"

"I already told you"

"Not good enough"

"I have to go"

Before Nick could even stand up Greg was at the door baring it, allowing no escape.

"Tell me"

"You don't want to know"

"I don't care"

"Yes you do"

"I don't"

"I don't love you"

"I don't love you anymore"

"Ha-ha, now what's the real reason?"

"I'm not joking."

"That's not funny"

"I'm not laughing."

"I've noticed"

"I'm not joking"

"You can't help falling out of love with someone."

"I guess not"

"Well, then I guess I'll see you around."

"Yeah, sure"

Greg moved out of the way allowing his ex to pass, when the door closed, the man, looking no younger than a boy, stared blankly at it. When his friends asked him the next day how he got home, he couldn't answer them, he didn't remember driving to his apartment, or tearing it inside out, he didn't remember explaining to the neighbors what the screaming coming from his room was or the cops showing up and checking out the place. He does remember curling up in bed and crying, he also remembers calling Nick and hearing another mans voice.

The next day when Grissom asks if he feels alright, Greg glances out the glass window pane his sights set on Nick, laughing with one of the lab rats, there is only one reply
