Silence fell over the bedroom as April snuggled against Mark's chest, pressing her ear against it so she could hear his heartbeat. He ran his fingers through her hair absently.

"We're going to have to replace that lamp. Too dark in here without it."

"We'll manage."

Mark ran his fingers down April's back, smiling softly and thinking how beautiful she was, with her hair down and wild, flushed, smiling at him. She kissed his neck.

"You have an amazing mouth."

"Lots of practice."

"I thought you said you'd never had a boyfriend before?"

"No, but bubblegum can give your tongue quite the workout."

"...I'll keep that in mind."

And they slept.
