Had it always been so cold in his office? The air conditioning was off and none of the windows were open.
The boy sighed, turning back to his computer. Thankfully, his business report was almost done. Only four more pages to go. The paperwork on hid desk was dwindling down.
'I might be able to go home early.'
A creak from hid door caused him to look up. His father had walked in.
"Do you have those files, Chaud?"
'Yes, sir," he said, handing the profound president a handful of manila folders.
"I'll be back tomorrow for those reports," Shuuseki stated, walking out.
Chaud was about to continue typing, when he shuddered. There it was again. It felt like he was standing in snow. An arctic chill wrapped around his legs and rose up to his arms, paralyzing him. This was unbearable. Why was this happening?
"Does this have anything to do with karma?" he asked to no one in particular. "I swear, I didn't mean to yell at Hikari. He's just so annoying!"
"Who're you talking to?" asked Protoman as he walked into the room. Chaud was too deep in thought to hear the door open.
New technology developed by Scilab now allowed Netnavis to access the real world without a dimensional area.
"Oh, hey Protoman," Chaud replied sullenly.
"You don't look so good. Do you wish for me to get you anything?"
"No, I'm fine."
Protoman looked worriedly at Chaud, putting his hand to the back of Chaud's neck.
"You're freezing Chaud!" What were you doing?"
"Nothing. I was here the whole time."
That wasn't the answer he was looking for, but Chaud was an enigma, so you didn't know what to expect. Suddenly, he got and idea. Protoman wrapped his arms around Chaud's neck, burying his face into Chaud's hair. It tickled his face, making him want to giggle.
Chaud jumped in surprise at the sudden warmth. Wait, warm? He was warm.
'Guess it was loneliness.'
"I love you Chaud," Protoman said, his voice muffled by Chauds hair.
"I love you too, Protoman," Chaud said smiling.
Protoman smiled and gently kissed his head.
"Let's go home."
Chaud turned off his computer and walked home with Protoman. It was too nice out to take the limousine. For the first time Today, Chaud was warm. And to his surprise, happy.
I hope you all like this.
