just the way i am

It is morning again. She pulls herself up out of bed, glides over to her closet, and pulls out midnight robes. She tosses them on haphazardly, then adjusts the sleeves a little. The robes are very impractical, not to mention uncomfortable, but there's something about them that attracts her. Maybe it's how forbidding she looks in them, because she is fair to her victims; her appearance is a warning signal, which most take as a hint.

She smooths her hair down, pets her kunai lovingly, and laughs, without a trace of mirth. Her bright green eyes flash as the Savage Nymph leaves the room that is called hers and walks downstairs, to the library.

But who is to be standing in her way, but of course, the one who never notices all of her warning. His flaming red hair is everywhere as he laughs to his best friend, standing next to him. Roxas' blue eyes are glinting as he grins at Larxene; is the boy just naturally so dumb as to mess with her, or is it the influence of Axel, she wonders.

"Are you planning to go somewhere, Larxene?" Axel inquires, his expression completely solemn.

She tosses her hair fiercely, scowling at the two. "As a matter of fact, I am," she says calmly, her eyes steely. "And if you don't get out of my way, I'll plan to go right through you...with my kunai." The knives appear between her fingers now. Roxas grins, and his arm tenses, ready for the familiar motion of summoning his dual Keyblades. Axel doesn't bother to engage in the threats.

"Your wit's not as sharp as your kunai today," observes the red-haired annoyance. The Savage Nymph grits her teeth, and decides to allow them one more jibe.

"Why does your hair stick up like that?" Roxas asks, genuine curiosity in his voice.

"You're one to talk about weird hair," Larxene mutters. "Has your hair swirled like that because of eating too much ice cream, or is that natural? No, wait, let me guess...aha! You must've taken one of Xaldin's lances!"

Roxas turns a pale shade of pink; everybody knows that his hair is his only vanity. Axel smothers a grin at his best friend's expression.

"What are you laughing at?" she jeers. "Your hair looks like...like..." But then she falters, because she can't think for some reason of a single thing that Axel's hair looks like besides...

"Like a fire," he supplies, smirking. "That's what it's supposed to look like. What about you, are you trying to look like a Heartless?"

"No!" the Savage Nymph says hotly.

Roxas, obviously still annoyed about her remark on his hair, puts in, "And what's up with teleporting everywhere? Can't you just walk?"

She turns her glare on the Key to Destiny. "That's just the way I am."

Axel looks at her thoughtfully, and she reaches out with her kunai. Five, four, three, two, one...

The Flurry of Dancing Flames steps calmly out of the library entrance and gestures for Roxas to do the same. Confused, Larxene frowns. The pyromaniac spreads his arms wide. "We're all entitled to be ourselves," he says quietly. "Even when we're Nobodies."

He walks away, Roxas goggling at him, Larxene still unfocused. She shrugs and walks into the library. But from that day forward, she was friends with the twosome.
