Rodney shook his head as Ronon and Teyla helped John to the gate. "You must really have a hero complex, Sheppard," he said.

"You should at least be grateful I saved your ass, Rodney. Ronon and Teyla are. Besides, I could have just let the creature sink it's teeth into you."

Rodney tosses him a glare as he began to dial the gate. "You should have," Ronon muttered with a grunt.

"John!" Teyla exclaimed as he dropped to his knees, clutching his side.

Ronon wasn't waiting for a response from the colonel, once Rodney confirmed the IDC, he picked John up and ran into the event horizon.

Upon arrival back in the gate room, Elizabeth was kneeling next to John's unmoving form, holding his hand as Carson examined him. "Lets get him to the OR, STAT!" he exclaimed.

Elizabeth reluctantly let go, Ronon helping her from the floor. "What happened?" she asked.

"He did it again," Rodney said with a sigh.

John felt decidedly comfortable and knew immediately that he must be on some of Carson's happy juice. He was so very glad the pain had gone away, at least for now.

When that creature had torn into his side, he wanted to pass out, but he didn't. He knew he had to get this team back to Atlantis safely.

He heard quiet voices nearby and blinked, trying to allow everything come into focus. Carson smiled when he saw him awake. "Colonel, it's good to see you awake, son."

"How long was I out?"

"Almost two days," he replied. "I'm not surprised considering the amount of blood you lost."

"No wonder I'm sleepy. Is my team around?"

Carson debated whether or not he should call them in. He was afraid John wouldn't rest, but realized he probably needed to see his friends alive and well. "I'll call them right now, Colonel."

Ten minutes later, John heard the sarcastic tones of Rodney McKay heading towards him. If he weren't doped up on pain medication, he would not be very amused by it. "Hey guys," he called to them.

"John, it is good to see you awake."

"Yeah, Conon here was about to use me as a punching bag."

Ronon glared at him. "I wouldn't have hurt you. I just wanted to spar."

John chuckled. "We can spar when I'm healed, Ronon. Until then, just spar with Teyla." He immediately turned serious. "Are you guys ok?"

"We are fine, John. Thanks to you."

"Yeah," Ronon said.

Rodney crossed his arms. "You! What about me?"

"What are you talking about?" John asked. "The minute that creature jumped in front of us. You screamed and ran behind Teyla. Oh, and it was girly scream by the way!"

"I do not scream like a girl, Sheppard!"

Ronon shook his head and left them, while Teyla took Rodney by the arm, pulling him towards the door. "Sleep well, Colonel."

"Thanks, Teyla."
