-I Am Goyle

I am Goyle...

... Greg Goyle actually, but I bet if asked most of my classmates at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry couldn't even tell you what my first name is. They'd just point and say "That's Goyle, one of Draco Malfoy's lackey's"

Yeah, one of. I use to be one of two, it use to be Crabbe and Goyle. But Crabbe died in the hell fire in the room of requirement during the battle of Hogwarts. We wanted to go back, Malfoy and I, but Potter was right, it was too late. Besides, it was Crabbe's own fault he was dead. It was Crabbe who turned on the Dark Lord and disobeyed orders not to try to kill Harry Potter, and it was Crabbe who started the hell fire in the room of requirement trying to do that exact thing. So, I guess I can't feel too much sympathy for the guy.

Now, my lackey days are over. Draco Malfoy has kind of gone into seclusion with his family and me, I'm just trying my best to be Greg Goyle. Or as my father calls me, the lazy layabout with no ambition.

I've heard some blokes are going back in the fall to complete their 7th year at Headmistress McGonagall's invitation. My mum keeps on me about making her and dad proud by doing that but I am pretty sure McGonagall wasn't issuing the invitation to the lackey of a Death Eater who took part in torturing people.

And Greg Goyle, well, he has a bit too much pride to go crawling back to wallow among the likes of mudbloods like Granger and trash like the Weaseley's and Harry Potter. They may have won the war and vanquished lord Voldemort, but that doesn't change who and what they are after all.

Yes, it can be argued that someone needs to take over where the Dark Lord left off, to finish his noble work. And what better place than inside the school itself? Well, if it is to be done, it wont be done by me. I've have enough ugliness to last the rest of my life. Enough fighting and killing, and hate and rage and senseless death. Not even a mudblood deserves to have his life end at fifteen years old, like little Colin Creevey did. Creevey was a jumpy little bit of vermin, and we needed to make him miserable on principle...but boy, you gotta admire the kids dedication and honor, that's for sure.

So, what about Greg Goyle? Blimey, what do I do now?

All I've known the past few years has been Draco Malfoy vs Harry Potter.

Now there's no dragons egg to tattle about, no Hippogryff to get executed, no room of requirement to spy on. Draco doesn't need his back watched. Bloody Hell, I hear he doesn't even hate Harry Potter anymore.

So, what's a former lackey to do? I suppose all I can do is just...be me. The real me, and leave the lackey me behind, in the past.

Maybe , just maybe, its in the hell fires of the Room of Requirement, with Crabbe.

And I think that's a fantastic place for it .
