Wanna know what inspired this? "Like Toy Soldiers" by Eminem. Hence the title. That hook 'left right left, we all fall down, like toy soldiers' reminded me SO much of the Aang Gaang that I just had to write this down. I really do fear for them because what I love about this show is that you can relate and connect w/ the characters on such a level that you fear for their safety, you want them to come out fine in the end...

And thus, this was born. It's not as lengthy, but it is a bit longer than some of what I write. I couldn't really write anymore to it w/o expanding way too much. I think it's simple and nice and fine the way it is. Enjoy!

Don't own, don't sue plz.

left right left

we all fall down

He wears his wolf armor with pride, no signs of discomfort or sadness on his face. His lips are lined straight and his blue eyes filled with fierce determination. Sokka places his sword on the sheath on his hip, taking in the comfort of the moon's light bathing him and it feels warm. He speaks a name that he thought only he could hear but hopes that she finds his voice and carries his weight, just a little bit would be enough…

She styles her hair similar to that of her mother's, a homage to the brave and courageous woman she knew from long ago, now living inside of her as she takes on this dangerous challenge. Her clothes are no longer red but blue for Water Tribe. Katara fights for her people, for all the people whom she hopes to help during the invasion. She's brave but oh she is scared deep, deep down inside for the people, friends, who she was lucky to meet and to live with and to love. Blue eyes meet gray and she hopes the wait doesn't last forever, that time moves faster because living in this moment was worse.

Her bangs still fall down across her face, not like it would be much of a problem for her anyway. She could feel the weight of the hat on her head, and the weight of her clothes because its Earth Kingdom and she is in the Fire Nation and she knows what that meant. Her bare feet could feel the rapid heart beats of the people around her and not even the missed feeling of dirt between her toes could help lift her spirits. Toph isn't afraid to die out there, she's only afraid of being trapped and right now, that's exactly how she feels. Trapped. No matter what she'd say or do or try to break out she couldn't because time is going too, too slow for her tastes and it feels like a cage that not even she could break out of.

His shoulders bare most of the weight and it never hurt so much to carry it than it did right at this very moment, during this night, the day before the eclipse where they would take the advantage and try to bring down the Fire Nation once and for all. His shoulders are bruised from carrying the weight for such a long, long time and he never, really, understood how much it hurt until tonight. Aang wouldn't cry, there is no time to cry and to feel sad. There is only time to take the initiative and to be brave and firm and strong. Gray eyes meet blue and for once in his life he wished he could drop his guard and stare at them forever but forever did not belong to him nor did it belong to her. His only sense of hope is the happiness he will feel once this whole ordeal is over, once he, no, they've won. Until then, daydreams are best kept to the side and nightmares closer because if he doesn't know what he fears then he could never conquer them.

For those who've lost people they've loved…

For those who cry for hope but can't find the voice to carry it…

For those who wish for a better life…

They will fight, even if they're knocked down to the ground like toy soldiers on a battlefield.
