"Edward…I love you, Edward…"
I watched as he shot me a smug look. "Enjoying yourself now, dog?"
"Does she ever shut up?" I growled, irritated by Bella's constant whining in her sleep. Ever since the bloodsucker and I stopped talking, Bella would keep mumbling through her dreaming stupor. I felt her shift in my arms, pressing her cool cheek against my shoulder. "It is a wonder how you aren't dead," I murmured, holding her closer to me.
"Watch it, Jacob," Edward warned, glaring at me.
I shrugged. "You wanted a space heater, so you got one. No need to be picky, Mr. Privileged."
"I am thankful," he said, still staring at me through narrow slits. "I swear if your hand moves any higher—"
Damn. I didn't think he noticed that.
"Of course I noticed that, you idiot."
"Get out of my head!" I whispered furiously.
"Edward…don't leave me, Edward…" Bella murmured softly, shifting in my arms once more.
A pained expression shot across his face. "Bella."
"Not so great, is it." I wrinkled my nose at the stench, both from the bloodsucker, and the scent he left on Bella. "Ugh. So much for sleep."
Suddenly, Bella gasped. "Jacob! Noooo, Jacob!"
"Great," I snorted, staring at Bella's unnerved gasping. "The one time she says my name, she is scared. Thanks a lot, Bells."
"Emmett can't be the minister…stupid Dartmouth…" she moaned furiously.
"What in the hell is she talking about?" I asked the bloodsucker, confused out of my mind.
"Nothing," Edward replied, his eyes brimming with amusement.
"…damn hormonal werewolves…always in heat…" Bella muttered, still restless in sleep.
My eyes widened slightly. "Bells…"
"Heat?!" Edward exclaimed, laughing hysterically at Bella's word choice.
"She didn't mean it like that!" I said furiously, defending myself.
"Your cheeks look a little red there, dog." Edward snickered. "Are you sure you aren't in heat?"
"So I suppose old habits die hard," the leech snorted, still chuckling. "Try and hold on to your urges—no wonder your head was swimming with all those images."
"One more word…" I growled, my body trembling nervously. Dawn had approached, and I could feel Bella stir in my embrace. "I swear, if you tell her any of this—"
Edward waved his hand, laughing. "Sure, sure," he said. "But tell me one thing, do werewolves…?"
"None of your business," I snarled. "Why don't you leave Bella here for a few months, and then come back? I'm sure you'll have your answers by then."
Edward stopped laughing, a sharp look on his face. "Watch it, boy."
"Whatever, grandpa," I retorted.
"Besides, I'm sure Charlie wouldn't want to arrest his own daughter," Edward sighed, wrinkling his nose in disgust.
"Why would he do that?"
"Pedophilia," Edward stated simply.
Authoress Note: I have NO idea what I was thinking. I guess I was trying to test the limits of my crippled fingers, haha, but yeah. Here you go. This takes place after the chapter "Fire and Ice" in Eclipse—the between time with the two chapters as Bella kept mumbling in her sleep. Much love.
Yes, I realize I didn't include the "My Jacob…" portion into this story. Many of you have pointed this out. I didn't want to include it because that portion is already known. Thanks.
