A distant scream was the only sound Dillamond could hear. After thinking about it for a few minutes, he concluded it was more of a roar than a scream. Then he figured it was closer than he thought. Then it all died down to a low growl. Soon, it just died.
He knew that he would soon be next. It would only be a matter of time, which was quickly running out for him. Yet, no matter how innocent he felt, he felt ten times guiltier for sitting in his dirty cage, allowing the others to be mercilessly tortured till all trace of a former, educated life was gone.
Soon, he would only be seen, not heard.
