AN: This is just a brief little fiction dealing with something that drives me crazy with a lot of fan fictions. Occasionally some writers can make Booth seem a bit, well…you'll get the point. Let me know what you think.
"I think Booth is stalking me," Brennan said as she sat down across from her boss. Cam stopped what she was doing and looked up at Brennan, her eyebrows raised.
"I think Booth is stalking me."
"I heard you the first time Dr. Brennan, I'm just a little bit shocked. Why on earth would you think that?"
"Little things really. I didn't notice the behavior at first, and it didn't bother me until we started…you know…"
"Being intimate? Dr. Brennan, I appreciate your concern about my feelings regarding Agent Booth, but I've never known you to be uncomfortable talking about sex."
"This isn't about sex. He's…let me ask you something. When you two were dating did he ever tell you that if you ran from him that he would hunt you down?" Cam looked at Temperance for a long time, trying to decide if she was joking or not.
"He said that?"
"Yes, right after we…that just doesn't seem normal."
"And that's the only reason you think he's stalking you?"
"No. He always manages to show up wherever I am and at odd times."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I went to visit my mother's grave, and hadn't told anyone where I was going. The next thing I know, there he is standing under a nearby tree. It's really starting to creep me out."
"And you're sure that he's not just being himself?"
"It was never this bad before we were dating. I mean outside of stalkers and obsessed boyfriends, who tells you they'll hunt you down if you run?"
"Okay, I admit that's a bit strange, but with the cemetery thing, he does know you well."
"It's creepy. He didn't act like that with you?"
"No, as a matter of fact he, well, he was a bit obsessed with you. Maybe he is stalking you."
"See, I knew it. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going crazy." With that, Brennan left the office. Cam watched the forensic anthropologist walk away and shook her head. They say that stalkers are obsessed with their victims, and have an unhealthy connection. If that delusion is confronted, then things can turn violent. But Temperance and Seeley were dating, so this seemed more like a case of an overly obsessive boyfriend. Cam picked up the phone, shaking her head in disbelief as she made the call to their therapist. It looked like the pair was due for some more therapy.
