Summary: Set directly after "Ugly", House confronts Cameron about that whole "stimulating" thing.
Disclaimer: I don't own 'House MD', just playing in the sandpit (as always).
"I stimulate you?"
Cameron cringed at obvious reference to her television disaster, and wasn't surprised when she turned around to see House smirking at her.
"You heard about that, huh?" She asked with nonchalance, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Judging by the number of nurses that giggled at me this morning, I think it's fair to assume the whole hospital is aware of your undying love for me by now." House said, leaning heavily on his cane as he made his way towards her.
Cameron disguised her awkwardness with a small laugh, and instead focused on rearranging the bandages on the ER tray in front of her. "Anyway, it's not like you haven't got anything to be embarrassed about, I heard one of the doctors referring to you as 'Dr.CareBear' this morning." She said, not able to keep the smile off her face as his smirk faded into a look of annoyance.
"Dammit. I knew you'd throw that in my face. For the record, I couldn't care less about the elephant." House said, following Cameron as she tended to a patient.
"You say that, but you don't mean it. You'd be sulking in your office at this very moment if…"
"I don't sulk." House interrupted.
"Yes you do. Pass me that bandage?" Cameron asked, and was surprised when House actually did as she asked.
His fingers touched hers as he handed her the equipment, and Cameron's breath caught in her throat as his eyes locked with hers. The intensity in his eyes made her forget about the injured man between them until he coughed meaningfully and their eyes reluctantly left each other's.
She gave a slight smile as she finished tending to the man, wrapping the bandage around his arm. "How's that Peter?" She asked kindly, checking the rest of his injures.
House watched in interest as the man muttered his thanks to Cameron before she turned to the doctor next to her and instructed he be moved to the second floor.
"So what if I sulk, I stimulate you. STIMULATE." House said, picking up on their original conversation.
"You're never going to let that go, are you?" She asked with a smile, making a couple of notes on the patient's chart before handing it over to the doctor she was conversing with a moment before.
"Nope." He said with a smirk before turning around and heading back towards his office.
Cameron laughed as she watched him go, "Whatever you say CareBear" she muttered under her breath.
