'Twas some minutes after work, when all through the lab
Not a squint was there stirring, not even to gab;
The bones were displayed on the platform with care,
In hopes that Seeley Booth soon would be there;
Temperance was sitting all snug in her seat,
Waiting for Seeley to get something to eat;
He came into the lab with some Thai food in hand,
and humming a tune from some brand new rock band,
When on the platform there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their seats to see what was the matter.
Away to the doorway they flew like a flash,
Tore down the hallway and fell with a crash.
His hand on her breast as he rose from the floor
but the moan from her mouth showed she wanted some more,
When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
But the rest of the squint squad in some safety gear,
Zack rounded the corner, so lively and quick,
they knew in a moment they'd somehow be sick.
More rapid than eagles security they came,
And they groaned, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Dr. Brennan. Agent Booth, Angela and you Jack!
Dr.Camille Saroyan and young Dr. Zack!
To the front of the lab and out the double doors
So the fire brigade can cover the floors
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So out the front doors, the squints they all flew,
With some smoke trailing behind and a puddle of goo.
And then, in a twinkling, they heard in the hall
the steady patter of some heavy footfall.
As they took a deep breath, and were turning around,
Out the front doors Dr. Goodman came with a bound.
He was dressed formally, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of nerves ran through their backs,
As he looked down on them with his eyes flashing black.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his frown was not merry!
His arms crossed before him, he was looking quite scary!
The frown on his face was drawn down like a troll,
And the beard on his chin was as black as some coal;
His jaw was clenched tight, he was grinding his teeth,
if steam could come out it would circle like a wreath;
He looked over at Zack, poked him in the belly,
That shook, when he gasped like a bowlful of jelly. "Your experiments have to be put on the shelf"
And Zack cried when he heard it, in spite of himself;
A squint of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave them to know I had a lot to dread;
He spoke not a word, but walked straight to his car,
And reaching the big truck; he turned 'round quite far,
And pointing his finger at each scientist,
it was obvious that he was really pissed;
He sprang to in his truck, to his team gave a huge glare,
And away he drove as speedily as he would dare.
But they heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Get that lab cleaned up before you go home tonight."
