A Dance to Remember
DG looked at herself in the mirror, turning slightly to see as much of herself as possible. It was the day after she had saved her sister and the OZ and things were starting to fall into place. DG sighed once more as she saw her reflection, she wore a brilliant blue gown that was off the shoulders and dipped low, then flowed down into a large a-line skirt. Deciding that she'd better get to the banquet before someone thought she had been kidnapped or something horrible she rushed out the door.
As she walked down the long corridor of her new home in the OZ Glitch was walking up the stairs. He too was dressed up for the occasion in a new outfit somewhat like his old one; a new coat, pants and a fresh shirt.
"Hello princess DG," Glitch called out happily as he saw her, he stopped for a moment seeing her dressed up, and he couldn't believe that this was the same DG that he had traveled with. Her hair was done up, a few strands were lightly curled and fell onto her bare shoulders and her face was glowing with happiness. DG saw Glitch stop and stare at her and she blushed and looked down at her feet, after all the time they had spent together DG had started to fall for him. His carefree personality paired with an unquenchable care and concern for her made it impossible not to have feelings for him.
"May I escort you to dinner?" Glitch finally asked, DG smiled and nodded, not able to say a word. She slipped her arm in his and they walked down the grand staircase together towards the party that was formed in honor of Cain, Raw, Glitch, DG and Azkedellia.
They walked together into the dazzling ball room, it was decorated with sparkling lights, tables of food and drinks, and hundreds of happy guests danced, all of this seemed impossible to DG, after seeing the OZ during Azkedellia's reign. Glitch glanced over at DG and smiled timidly,
"Will you dance with me DG?"
"Of course Glitch," she smiled happily back at him.
He guided her expertly to the dance floor and started leading her through a graceful and elegant dance that caused those around them to stop dancing and instead watch the couple glide across the floor.
"Everyone is watching us." DG whispered as she was being twirled around by Glitch.
"Don't worry," he replied, then dipping her, "It's just you and me." DG blushed, but smiled in spite of her fear of being the center of attention.
The song finally ended and an especially loud applause burst out from the guests as Glitch held DG close after finally finishing the dance. Gasping, DG leaned against Glitch's chest, slowly catching her breathe. But Glitch closed his eyes and breathed in her scent, he was lost in the moment, completely unaware of what was going on around him, it was only when she pulled back and looked up at him with her sparking blue eyes did he finally come back around.
"I love you," he whispered to her. She looked at him, smiled, her eyes twinkling.
"I love you too," Glitch let out the air from his lungs; he was completely unaware that he had been holding his breathe. Slowly he bent down towards her; almost waiting for her to say no, but when she didn't their lips met soft a sweet. A kiss of sweet and simplistic love in a chaotic and crazy world.
