Gargoyles: Eye of the Beholder
Chapter One: Daysleep
It's been almost seven years since I've had a good night's sleep.
I mostly sleep during the day -- if I'm given the luxury, and I suppose I'm happy to report that "habit" has next to nothing to do with my career choice.
Because I love my job so much? Because I'm a natural night-owl? Nope.
Let's just say I keep strange company.
"Elisa," the white haired, bearded Gargoyle said warmly as his wings folded effortlessly across hi chest. "A pleasure as always, lass."
Maza grinned. "Good morning, Hudson."
It was nightfall. The Gargoyles had just awoken from their stone slumber -- but it wasn't Hudson Elisa had come to see.
"Goliath's atop the castle," Hudson chimed in intuitively.
Elisa thanked him with a smile and made her way up the staircase. Upon pushing the door open, however, her eyes met a pair of cold, red and all too familiar ones.
"Demona?!" She reacted instantly, pulling her gun. The two were less than friends, Demona's deep growl an obvious testament to the fact.
"It's alright, Elisa," Goliath called from behind her.
"She is here as an ally."
