"This is ridiculous... I'm the original Brennan/Booth fangirl! Have they already forgotten the not-so-subtle comments I make about them every other episode?"

"Cherie, fanfiction writers are one of two things: fools or children. They're like magpies, distracted by the latest shiny plot device. Which, this week, just so happens to be little old me."

"You two can argue all you want, I still hold undeniable record of being the one and only Brennan/Booth fanboy."

"Don't get too cocky, sugar... I have a sneaking suspicious this guy will give you a run for your money."

"Damn straight! You better watch your back, old man. All I need is one episode where I force them to examine the true feelings behind their kiss and... bam! Insta-fanfic favourite."

"Can't we all just agree that fandom loves us for who we are, regardless of whether we try to get Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth together?"

"Where's the fun in that?"

"You're not going to refer to your puckish side again, are you? It's like fandom's favourite word right now."

"Angela, do you have the-" Camille stopped dead in her tracks as she saw who was crowded around Angela and her computer. "Uh, what are these people all doing in your office?"

"I needed outside resources for my research on the latest case. A couple consultations, really. You don't mind, do you?" Angela smiled brightly, hoping her dazzling grin would distract Cam enough that her boss would not notice the open Firefox tabs loading countless numbers of stories from frowned at Angela for a second before turning back towards the doorway, making a hasty retreat. "I think I'll play it safe and not even ask."

With Cam gone, Angela breathed a sigh of relief. "That was too close."

"Yeah, yeah. Have you found any fanfic with me in it yet?"

Angela smirked and scrolled down the page as her observers crowded in closer towards her computer monitor. "Patience, people. We've got all afternoon to search..."
