Disclaimer: The song Mad world is by Gary Jules . It would be really good to listen to the song while reading.

All around me are familiar faces,

Worn out places, worn out faces

Bright and early for their daily races

Going nowhere, going nowhere…

Zelda had sent him back in time. He had thought that she had some plan that would allow him to live his seven years in peace. But instead, she had simply sent him back in time to right before he met Navi. Nothing had changed. He would have to live through this nightmare again…it almost drove him crazy…

Their tears are filling up their glasses,

No expression, no expression.

Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow,

No tomorrow, no tomorrow...

He saw the beginnings of Ganondorf's reign. It seemed the master sword was sentient, taking pity on him; it did not force him to live seven years trapped. But that meant that until he matured enough to face Ganondorf he had to keep running, or else endanger Hyrule's future by getting killed while he was young and weak. Running and running…

Children waiting for the day they feel good,

Happy birthday, happy birthday.

And I don't feel the way that every child should,

Sit and listen, sit and listen…

He didn't have time to celebrate. He let this birthday pass as he did all the others. Just as all the years also had. He had thought several times of trying to open the temples early, but he knew that the monsters would kill him before he got a chance. He had already tried to get the first weapon he needed, the hook shot, but Dampe had been very reluctant.

"Me and this hookshot are together until death do us part!"

He had flinched at that. He didn't know how Dampe had died originally, and wasn't going to bother to find out.

Went to school and I was very nervous,

No one knew me, no one knew me,

Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson,

Look right through me, look right through me…

After seven years of constant moving and running, he had grown strong and begun his quest. It should have been obvious to him that no one would remember him, since at most they would remember a glance of him. But again he had to see friends he remembered, but who did not know him. He met Sheik again, and he knew that Zelda was furious at him; she had seen him running away. But she just didn't understand…

He did it all in record time. The temples and puzzles were easy. Ganondorf and Ganon had been a lot easier to deal with the second time around, now that he knew all of their strategies and techniques. Ganondorf himself had been surprised at how calm he was, but there had been no reason to be afraid.

Here they were again. Zelda was asking for the Ocarina. He could put an end to the madness.

"With it I can return you to your original time."

"I can't let you do that Zelda! You did this once and–"

"Shut up! You had the master sword all those years, yet you waited till now to help Hyrule!"

" No, you don't understand! I had to, or els–"

With her magic, Zelda pulled the ocarina from his grasp.

"By sending you back to your time, it should trap Ganondorf in the sacred realm..."

"NO! WAIT! It's not going to! You're making a mistak–"

"Goodbye, coward."

He could do nothing as the blue light lifted him once more. Everything went white.

"Hey! Listen! The Deku tree has summoned you!"

He was back here. Again.

I find it find of funny, I find it kind of sad.

The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take,

When people run in circles, it's a very, very

mad world…mad world…
