Yeah, I'm doing a PenguinShipping (Kenny/Dawn) drabble. So what? Like I said in my author's profile, it's a pair that I've warmed up to over the past couple of months. This is holiday themed, in Dawn's first person narrative, and my first ever Pokemon drabble, so I hope you enjoy it!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Pokemon, a creation of one Satoshi Tajiri, and is produced domestically (in the United States) by Pokemon USA/TAJ/The Pokemon Company, and internationally by Shogakukan and OLM. I personally own nothing and make nothing by writing this. Please do not flame.
It's been ten minutes since I opened it, and I still can't stop laughing at what he gave me earlier in the waiting room of the contest hall. He looked, or at least tried to look conspicuous as he gave it to me, hands trembling while he tells me 'Happy Holidays' and he leaves to go wherever he's going now. It's so cute, especially how he tries to play off being cool while giving it to me.
Anyway, my longtime friend Kenny gave me this Christmas card that he made himself, and inside of it was this long poem that included among several other words and phrases, my childhood nickname, the 'roses are red, violets are blue' rhyme stanza slightly modified, a mention of my mother kissing Santa Claus and my grandmother being run over by a reindeer, a reference to Bart Simpson's rendition of Jingle Bells, and how at times the cold can make us all like little Rudolphs with our red noses.
He didn't really say anything until the very end of this hand written poem, with the indication of many smudge marks at the corner of a few of the penciled letters. He said that even though the reason why everyone has red noses at Christmas time is because of the cold winters, he admits the he likes to look at me with my red nose. He says it matches his red cheeks whenever I'm around him.
Again, I can't help but laugh when I read his card and poem. Kenny tries so hard to be romantic or deep with his methods, but often times, it ends up all going straight to heck. I can tell, especially when he wrote his postscript saying that he should start calling me 'Rudolph' from now on due to my crimson cherry protuberance.
Well, I'll never fault him for trying something new, but I suppose old habits and customs die hard. As for 'Dee Dee,' I can only say good riddance.
A/N: Christmas and the holidays are supposed to be about giving of yourself, and for the time I'm here, I'd like to do a few pairings that I don't particularly care for, or I'm on the fence of as far as supporting, like this one. I hope you enjoyed it, and like I said in my profile, Rave is NOT going soft. This is not going to affect my support of Zoey/Dawn in the least bit.
Until next time, this is Rave asking all of you to read and review.
