Even Yamamoto was bored. As a rule, the meetings must last one half hour and every course and topic had been discussed and settled within the first three minutes. Two lines, ten captains.
Soifon stared at the captain across from her…or at least, the blank space where one used to be. "So, how are the replacement captains coming along, Sir?"
"Oh," Soifon went back to silence.
"Say something," Kenpachi nudged Ukitake. "You're his favorite."
"Uh," Jushirou struggled, "does anyone know if it's going to rain today?"
"Does it ever rain?" Hitsugaya mumbled in reply.
"How about a drink?"
"You're on duty, Kyoraku-san," Unohana scolded.
"That never stopped him before," Mayuri snickered.
There was momentary silence.
"Has anyone else noticed the meeting seems to proceed much faster without Ichimaru-taichou's interruptions?"
Everyone stared at Aizen.
"I'm back from vacation." His glasses glinted. "How is everybody?"
"We're fine, Sosuke-kun."
"That's nice to hear, Shunsui."
"What are you doing here?" Byakuya demanded.
"Momo gets worried if I'm gone for too long."
"Didn't you betray the Gotei 13?" Soifon asked, confused.
"You thought I was serious?"
