Disclaimer: If I owned any of this, what makes you think that I would be here??
The life of an SG-1 team member left little time for personal relaxation or reflection. Just when you thought, for example, that your planet, or any other for that matter, was safe, some maniac would come along trying to blow it up, enslave it, or generally cause harm to its inhabitants.
For once, however, Sam Carter had the unexpected pleasure of working on her Naquadah generator design. In a place like the SGC, however, distractions occurred quite frequently and usually took the form of her commanding officer, Colonel Jack O'Neill. So, when she heard a knock on her door, while annoying, it wasn't entirely unexpected or completely unwelcome.
Sam looked up with a disgruntled sigh to see a rather uncomfortable Lieutenant standing in her doorway.
"Ma'am," he spoke hesitantly as if interrupting her would lead to his doom.
"Yes, Lieutenant," she responded with as much kindness as she could muster in her annoyance.
"There an investigative journalist on the phone asking for you, ma'am."
"I don't know the reason, ma'am, but she says her name is Sarah Jane Smith."
Suddenly, Sam's ordinary day took an unusual turn.
Please, review!!! I want to know if this is good, if I should do something different next time, and if I should write more.
