Ten years later, she sat once more in front of the fireplace of Albus Dumbledore, playing their weekly game of chess.

She was winning again and it seemed that he'd just noticed.

But then he looked up at her and gave her one of his wonderful smiles which she, unintentionally, returned.

He smiled even more when he saw the little change on her face.

Since her graduation, Albus Dumbledore had never seen Minerva McGonagall smile.

It would take him decades to melt her heart, but he was optimistic that one day he would find a way to her to make her realize how much she'd always meant to him and always would.
