A/N: First BSG fic, just wanted to get inside Starbuck's mind a little.

She remembers their names: all of them.

The name and face of every single fighter pilot that has died under her command.

Every time she closes her eyes, she sees them; their last words, their screams of agony, their faces full of horror as the cylons mercilessly destroy their ship. They were only kids; two of them were killed on their very first training session, and she can't help thinking – was it something she said to them that led to their death? Or was it simply meant to happen?

She sighs, and takes another drink. They call her an alcoholic. But how else is she meant to cope with this?

Meh. Concrit would be loved for this piece, might experiment more in this fandom if you think it's any good. :-)
