Mister and Miss Understood

I bet none of you have ever thought about this, but I have a soft spot for so-called 'crack pairings'. This pairing of AgainstShipping (Zoey/Paul) would in all likelihood fall into that description. It's rated 'K ' for mild language. I think this is the first time that this pairing has ever been done, so enjoy, folks!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Pokemon, a creation of one Satoshi Tajiri, and is produced domestically (in the United States) by Pokemon USA/The Pokemon Company, and internationally by Shogakukan and OLM. I personally own nothing and make nothing by writing this. Please do not flame.

It's power. People have died for it, organizations beg, borrow, and steal to get it, and nations have had wars because of it. Paul loves power. He has no interest in flash, charisma, style, or anything of the sort. The pokemon battlefield is indeed his battlefield and his war ground, and in all of his battles, he is a five star general at work. Ice is his element, as he remains as cold as frozen water, but in the eyes of many, he is thin ice, because very few dare tread to go near him. But why? He's not evil, he's just determined to a fault. In the big horse race, he's the only horse wearing blinders. To say the very least, he is an individual that is misunderstood.

It's zeal. It's what you would call enthusiasm personified, especially when you believe in your craft as much as Zoey has over her 17 years of life. The girl loves pokemon coordinating like she'd love a brother or sister. And ever since she was able to crawl on all fours, she has been able to stand on her own two feet. Independent and outspoken to a fault, she often runs into people that don't appreciate her attitude and frankness as it pertains to everything that is coordinating. Quite frankly, she could give a damn about the critics who talk about her in very unflattering terms. Zoey, more than anyone else, realizes, accepts, and even embraces the fact that she is very much misunderstood.

It's serious. It's powerful enough to drive people to kill and zealous enough in its nature to make people believe in such a thing as a 'soul mate'. It's love, and while none of them can explain it, love has brought Paul and Zoey together. Maybe it's because no one else could stand either of them, or the fact that they are so different that they are in fact the same, but since they've come together, no one has been able to extract these feelings from either of them before. Nothing within them says that these two people from two different worlds should be together, and out of all the things in life that are misunderstood, this paradox appears to stand out most of all.

And to them, it's fine. After all, they are both used to it.

A/N: You can imagine how difficult this one must have been for me. The Penguin, OutOfSpite, and IkariShipping drabbles were walks in the park compared to this one for two reasons, and one of the reasons is NOT because this is a never met shipping. One reason is that both Zoey and Paul in terms of the pokemon world are radical and often times extreme personalities and unique rivals. And the second reason why I found these two difficult to ship was because of each other's no nonsense attitudes, but despite all of that, I did it. Yeah, I'm not your average writer.

Notice I used the terms 'power' and 'zeal' to describe and characterize Paul and Zoey, respectively.

Don't be afraid to tell me what you think of this one by reading and reviewing! Until next time, it's been Rave!
