That first time they met…the clashing personalities, the different tempers, and very unlike friends made all those wise enough around them nod their heads. For everyone knows that opposites attract.
And then the next year at the Christmas party…a stolen kiss, heated argument, and a gentle touching of lips made their friends nod wisely. For everyone knows that a girl's first kiss is her life.
Then the next few months…the fight, the pain, and finally the hug made the couple, themselves, nod wisely and think about their future. For everyone knows that a fight comes before a make-up.
And Mikan sits down at her desk and looks at the ruby-eyed boy sitting beside her. How many years had it been? Four? Five? She stares at the teenager and lets a smile creep up her face. And all the people in the classroom nod, and Mikan reaches to her forehead to sweep a strand of hair away.
