"Bella! Could you come in here a moment?" Rosalie called from her bedroom at an abnormally high level in the house full of vampires.

I walked cautiously to the open door, where the beautiful Rosalie sat on her bed, fingers intertwined on her lap. If I thought no one did still like Edward before, then no one did perfection like Rosalie. "Did you need something, Rosalie?"

"Please, Bella, call me Rose. You're going to be my sister in a few weeks." She chuckled. "Even if I think that you're making the wrong decision."

I stiffened. "Rose, if this is a discussion about my wedding to Edward, I'm leaving now. I've made up my mind, and anything you say now will just make you feel guilty later."

"No! Please stay. I just wanted to apologize for how I've treated you all these years."

I stepped back, shocked. Rosalie was apologizing? To me? "I accept your apology. I was a little bit frightened at first, but never insulted. I'm glad you don't hate me."

"Hate you? I never hated you. I didn't like you, but the fact is, you changed Edward for the better. He was always so cold to me, like he knew I didn't belong in the Cullen house. Of course, he treated everyone but Esme like that, but still. That first day he brought you home with him, Esme almost choked on her own tongue. He had never been so open with us as he was that day. He smiled, he laughed. He finally looked at me more like a sister than a nuisance. And I have you to thank for that."

I was speechless. There was nothing to say to that. This beautiful vampire felt like she didn't belong in her own home. I knew that feeling. I had felt the same way in the few weeks after Phil left and Renee was home with me. It was like being an outsider on a world where no one wanted you. I walked over and sat on the bed, placing one of my hands on her intertwined ones. "You don't have to thank me for anything. Edward changed on his own. I didn't know him before, so I don't know what he was like, but I'm sure that he felt bad for alienating you. That's just the way he is."

"I see that now. But it was you that orchestrated his change."

"That's your opinion. I hope that you can accept me as a sister in the future." I looked at her hopefully.

She smiled. "Oh, it may take a while, but give it a few centuries, and we'll be fighting like lifelong sisters."

"I look forward to it." I smiled and squeezed her hands. "Now, if you don't mind, Edward's lap is beckoning me. I can hear him playing the piano."

She laughed heartily. "I understand. I think Emmett's playing Halo with Jasper. I may just have to surprise him too."

I grinned and stood up, walking to the door where, surprisingly Edward was waiting. The strains of piano music still echoed in the hall. "You recorded another CD?" I asked, knowing it wasn't the same one where my lullaby rested.

"Yep. I made you a copy if you want one." I reached up to stroke his cheek.

"Always." I said, as I leaned up to kiss him on the lips.

"Oh, gag me with a spoon." Rosalie said behind us with a contradictory smile on her face. I grabbed Edward's hand and led him away, my human ears just barely catching Rosalie mumble, "Yeah, she's become a Cullen girl, alright."

I grinned, knowing we would be good friends. Edward led me back to our bedroom, where I belonged, and I fell asleep with that goofy smile on my face and his beautiful compositions in my ears.
