Slow Brew (R/T)
Tonks opened her eyes slowly as she felt Remus kiss her forehead. She turned to him and rested her forehead against his chest.
"Would you like me to go get coffee?" he offered with a smile.
"Yes please," she chuckled softly.
Remus grinned and rolled out of bed. Tonks watched as he put a pair of jeans and a Dublin Destroyers shirt on. A thought came to the Auror…
"Remus," she said in her best warning tone, "I want regular coffee. Nothing fancy. No espresso, no…mocha caramel triple chocolate mint – whatever the hell it was," she grinned, remembering the last time she had sent him after coffee.
"It was a caramel vanilla brownie frappicino, and I thought you'd enjoy it," he said, pouting a bit.
"I was bouncing off the walls," Tonks laughed. Hyper plus clumsy had equaled bad…
"Yes, Nymphadora, you were," Remus said.
"Don't call me Nymphadora, Remus!" she said, chucking one of the decorative pillows at his head.
With a flick of his wand, the ex-professor sent the pillow gliding back to the bed. Sticking his tongue out at his wife, he exited their bedroom. Tonks simply rolled her eyes and hopped out of the bed, ready for a shower.
Remus hummed to himself as he walked down the London street; jacket zipped up all the way against the wind. He blamed Arthur, he decided. This new addiction he and his wife had was all Granddad Weasley's fault. Remus had met him once for lunch at a small Muggle café called Starbucks one day, and had been in charge of coffee runs ever since. He loved the place, he thought as he walked through the door and smelled the wonderful aromas filling the small room. Tonks liked their regular coffee, as she had made clear that morning, with only a little milk. Remus, on the other hand, loved exploring every drink the shop had to offer. The biggest plus was that you could get everything laced with chocolate…
He ordered their usual drinks, a grande regular and a vente mint mocha, paid (they kept Muggle cash on hand specifically for their coffee runs), and waited at one of the tables; listening to the steamers and coffee dispensers that were making the orders. After a little bit, the young boy working called,
"Mooney! Coffee and a mocha!"
Thanking the boy, he took his drinks and made his way back to the alley he used to Apparate.
Tonks yawned and pointed her wand at the spatula, which proceeded to flip the tomatoes that were frying in the pan. She stirred the potatoes and eggs, wishing Remus would hurry up with the coffee. No sooner had she thought this, than her husband strolled through the door.
"Coffee!" he said with a smile.
"Wonderful timing," she grinned, "Breakfast."
She nodded toward the stove and flicked her wand again so that the spatula would begin serving the food.
"Normal coffee, right?" she asked with a playful glare and a grin.
"Indeed," Remus rolled his eyes and laughed when Tonks threw a diced potato at him.
"Good morning to you too," he smiled as he began to eat his breakfast.
