To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Discouraged? Tempted? Lost?

Fear not. Get your Bible, turn to 2 Corinthians 12:9, and let the encouraging words of Jesus Christ regenerate your spirit and cast away your anxiety.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"

Life may not always lean towards our desires. We may be disappointed, we may be challenged... we may even break down in hopelessness. Yet, our Bible reading today reminds us that amidst all insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties we face in our lives, it's always Jesus to the rescue.

When Paul pleaded for Jesus to help him overcome the thorns Satan tossed, Jesus reminded him that his grace is enough remedy. He reminded Paul that "Okay Paul, when you are weak, be reminded that my power works best when you are disheartened. Call unto me, and I will give you rest."

This world may be cruel to us. We may not find the good we deserve from others, yet... we must always remind ourselves that Jesus is the answer to our weakness. This world can turn us upside down, weaken us, discourage us, and even devastate us. Yet... beyond all the rotten eggs the world gives us, there's nothing to be afraid of. The grace of Jesus is sufficient. His power is made perfect in our weakness.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18

Sometimes, as we share the gospel to others, as we live our lives according to the will of God, we may never help but feel weakened. The world is just not perfect for us. We may find ourselves mourning over the response we receive from the world. Have you ever asked yourself this question:

"I have always been good. Why aren't those things acknowledged? Yet when I sin, why do they condemn me? Have they forget all the good things I did for them?"

A Christian Life is impossible without Jesus Christ. Notice the word CHRISTIAN. We call ourselves CHRISTIAN alright... but try taking the word CHRIST away from CHRISTIAN.

CHRISTIAN - CHRIST IAN. So what does IAN mean? IAN means

A CHRISTIAN without CHRIST is nothing. Therefore, may we always remember that in everything that we do, let us pray to Jesus. Let us draw strength from him and let him guide our path. Pray to him at all times, to remind us to walk in the right track. To be strong amidst our weakness, to continue to believe and keep our faith... and ultimately, to continue to inspire and draw others back to God.

When we are weak, let us remind ourselves of Jesus' love. He'll never leave us nor forsake us. May we remain in him, so that he may remain in us.

In most cases, when we are faced with challenging tasks, we become so induldged into it that we forget to remind ourselves to pray to Jesus for guidance. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 reminds us that the challenges we face are not walls to keep us down, but an opportunity fos us to draw ourselves closer to God.

You may always want to preach the gospel to others... but you must also remember to...

Preach the gospel to yourself everyday.
