Requiem of the Unsung Heroes
What were we but soldiers in an unknown war? We were without emotions, without names, our faces and emotions hidden behind cold, white masks. All of us fought by night, died by night. The blood of our enemies and comrades stained the soil. Our weapons left scars upon the land, each telling a different story of hope, desperation, death and triumph.
This war can never be won, we all understood that. Yet we continued the parade of meaningless violence and death. We continued to protect our loved ones, for honour, for peace.
Our names will not be remembered, our faces nothing but a cold, hard mask. We went before most; we brought peace for our children. We were shadows in the dark, invisible shields for our villages. We are the unsung heroes of the shinobi world.
