Gibbs and Abby aren't mine. I just like to play with em every now and then ;) this came from boredom of being in the middle of nowhere for two weeks, I hope you all enjoy.

Abby Scuito sat alone in the darkness of her living room, tears spilling down her face. She had just returned home from Kate's funeral and right now she wanted nothing more than to curl herself into a ball and cry herself to sleep. She heard her front door open and didn't even bother to turn around and see who it was. She didn't need to, she already knew.

It was Gibbs. He was the only one that would come over when it was known that she didn't want to be bothered. And he was the only person that she wanted to see. He sat on the couch beside her, pulling her into his arms.

"Will you be alright?" he asked softly, reaching a hand up to wipe away her tears. She nodded her head timidly, burying her face deeper into his neck and breathing in the scent of him.

"It just hurts knowing she's not here anymore," she said after a moment. "I miss her, Gibbs. I feel like I have no one left now. No one that matters." Abby let out a shaky breath and looked up meeting his eyes. "Except you," she said quietly. "You are the only person I have left that means anything at all to me. The only one I have left that I know that no matter what, won't leave me." She let out a fresh round of tears and put her head back on his shoulder.

"You'll always have me, Abs. I'm not going anywhere, ever." Gibbs tilted her head up, her tears still flowing, and met her eyes. He wiped the tears away and bent his head, placing a soft kiss on her lips.

"Don't leave, Gibbs, please. Please stay with me tonight." Abby's eyes and words pleaded with him. "I need you, your strength, I need you here, with me."

Gibbs felt his demons coming to the surface. He'd waited a long time to hear her say those words but he couldn't take advantage of her vulnerability. He wouldn't do that to her. "Abby, honey, I'm not sure that's a great idea. I don't want to…" his words were silenced as he felt her lips on his.

"Stay, Gibbs. I know what I'm doing, I have wanted this for a while now. But now, right now, I just need the contact of you, and only you, nothing else. I need you tonight, if you never can again. Please," Abby was whispering, her words barely audible, but Gibbs heard her loud and clear, and that was all he needed. He nodded his head and placed another soft kiss on her lips.

"I'll stay," he whispered softly. "But I won't go away after tonight. You will always have me, Abby. Always. And you will never have to cry alone again." He kissed her softly and picker her up, carrying her to the bedroom.

That night, they both gave each other exactly what they needed, both of them reveling in the love and comfort they found in each other. And Abby knew that one day, as long as she had Gibbs, that she really would be okay. Everything was going to be alright afterall.
