"Emily?" Sam cried out as he entered the house, pulling on a t-shirt. "Are you here?"

"Yeah! I'm starved!" Embry called.

Sam clapped him on the back of the head at the same time Emily walked giggling into the room. "It's a good thing I made ribs then, isn't it?"

Embry's ears visibly perked up. "Still warm?"

She laughed again. "Of course."

Embry, Paul, Quil, Jared, and Jacob rushed past her to the kitchen, kissing her good cheek as they passed.

"You're the best" and "No wonder you're the designated cook" came from the kitchen, followed by groans of pleasure.

"Hello, my love." Sam took Emily's face between his hands and kissed each claw scar before bringing his attentions to her lips. "I missed you."

"I missed you too. How was your run?"

"Great. Paul attacked a squirrel when it jumped on his tail. Bit his own leg. Funniest thing I ever saw."

She giggled again. The sound was like wind chimes. "Is he okay?"

"He just severed the Achilles tendon. Healed in five minutes." He kissed her forehead. "How was your day?"

"Well, I cooked about forty cows worth of meat, cleaned the house, went to work, then managed to make you a special surprise."

"The forty first cow?" He joked.

"No, though you're welcome to the forty." She smiled and placed her arms around his neck. "It's upstairs were the children won't see."

"Comparing the pack to children, are we?" Sam smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Aren't they?" She chuckled.

"I heard that!" Five voices called out form the kitchen.

Sam and Emily both began laughing whole-heartedly. "So? What's my surprise?" He asked.

She grinned, and led him upstairs by the hand, where the werewolf pack pretended not to hear them.

"So, Jacob, I challenge you to an eating contest. First one to eat thirty ribs." Paul challenged.

"You're on." He replied with a wolfish grin. Embry stoop up with a rib sticking out of his mouth. The two competing boys swallowed their current meat before picking up another row.

Embry swung his hand down, and the meat began to fly. Quil waited until the whole pack's mouth were full before turning to the newest member of the pack. "So...Seth. I see you like to stick long, hard, meaty things in your mouth."

There was a sudden "Phft," and the room filled with chunks of half-chewed meat. Then the house exploded with laughter.

"Uhm hum!" Came a noise from the doorway. Emily stood there with a scowl. Pointing to the floor, she said simply "Clean it up!"

The boys jumped to it. "God, she's scarier than Sam." Quil said.

"And I wouldn't have it any other way." Sam said, pulling her to him and kissing her nose.
