I feel her watching me from the doorway. She stands silently, confident she has not been detected. "Why don't you just tell me why you're here, Ziva?" I snipe without turning.

She is shocked and her breath hitches almost imperceptibly. "How did-?"

"Window." I nod toward the windows, mirror-like against the dark sky.

She seems to buy it. She says simply, "Gibbs wants you upstairs," then stalks out.

I didn't mean to be so cold, really. She just… unnerves me. Truth is, I felt her before she even reached the lab. I always do, and that's what bothers me.
