A/N: Don't ask me where this came from. I was reading DH again and it just kinda came to me when I was at the bit with Snape's memories. Also, before all the James fans (of which I am one) try to kill me, the James bit is about young James, before he grew up and matured. Anyway, hope you like it and please, please, please review!

Disclaimer: Ain't mine. But don't I wish I'd thought of it first.

Severus Snape

Severus Snape was a Slytherin. He wore the green and silver colours with pride. He laughed with his friends about muggle-borns and blood traitors. He learnt dark magic and was not above using it.

But as he sat at the Slytherin table, he looked over at the pretty, red-head at the opposite side of the hall. He thought about the hour they'd spent talking down by the lake, and he thought of how much he loved her.

Severus Snape was not what he seemed.

James Potter was a young, arrogant bully. He liked it when people worshipped the ground he walked on. He would show off his magic and took every opportunity to underline his Quidditch skills.

But the night Sirius told him he'd sent Snape down the tunnel, James went after him. It was dangerous but he didn't care.

James Potter was not what he seemed.

Peter Pettigrew worshipped James Potter and Sirius Black. He followed them around everywhere they went. He never failed to praise even their slightest achievements, and he laughed at all their jokes. He did everything they told him to and never questioned any decision they made.

But he stole away in the guise a of a rat, having caused the murder of James and framed Srius.

Peter Pettigrew was not what he seemed.

Eleven year old Sirius Black was everything his parents wanted. He was their first born son, set to inherit the family fortune and to carry on the name. He was intelligent, showing great magical promise. He knew how to behave and how to treat things beneath him, like house elves. He was set for a great future.

But as Sirius sat on the stool and had the sorting hat placed on his head he wished with all his heart to be placed anywhere but Slytherin.

Sirius Black was not what he seemed.

Remus Lupin was a quiet, studious boy. He never gave trouble in class and always took down all his notes. He tried to stop his friends getting into too much trouble and in fifth year he was made a prefect. He was "the responsible one"

But every full moon he would be lead away from the castle, looking over his shoulder, he would know his friends were following him and they were in for a night of fun.

Remus Lupin was not what he seemed.

Lily Evans was the good girl. She was at the top of every class. She never got into trouble and hated people-coughmarauderscough-who acted out all the time. She was well aware of James Potter's crush on her and avoided him like the plague. She was smart, beautiful and had a loving family. She had the perfect life.

But as she walked up the aisle on her wedding day she looked where her family should have been. Parents killed by death eaters looking for her and a sister who didn't want to know. And from the alter smiled James Potter, waiting for her.

Lily Evans was not what she seemed.

A/N: So? You like? Review! I live for them!
