We, the Sparky Army, decree 2008 to be the Year of the Spark. We pledge to post a new sparky story or chapter of a sparky story every day from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Though the Powers that Be have removed Elizabeth Weir from the regular cast of Stargate Atlantis, we feel that she remains an integral part of the show, and that the relationship between her and John Sheppard is too obvious to be ignored. We hope that you and anyone might happen to read these works, agree.
And if that isn't official enough for you, we don't know what is. Seriously, guys, we're just trying to have some --and show TPTB that Sparky is the way to go. So sit back and enjoy the 366 stories coming your way!
AN (sparkly): So this is season one Sparky! So I'm afraid it is pre-ship, which I usually dont read or write. Kinda short too. Anyway, enjoy!
Thank You Rodney
With the shield up and the storm still raging outside, they had nothing to do but sit and wait. Beckett was resting with his concussion, lying down and free from McKay's whining. Ford and Teyla were currently talking softly near Carson, Ford trying to explain something Earth wise to the Athosian. Sora sat off by herself casting weary glances at her Lantian captors. Elizabeth sat on the steps looking out through one of the huge windows at the swirling torrent of wind and water. She looked lost in thought.
Rodney and John stood at the controls, Rodney fiddling with them here and there. John was thinking, glancing now and again at Elizabeth and then back to Rodney, who didn't seem to notice. Finally John spoke.
"Kolya said you put in a strong case for her."
"Huh?" the scientist asked, looking up and then following the Colonel's eyes that now rested on their leader. She was still wet and still looked a little shocked from what had happened. This was the first time that she'd personally been involved in one of the teams' life threatening adventures.
"Oh yeah yeah yeah," Rodney mumbled turning back to the console. "I mean I couldn't just let him kill Elizabeth, could I?" he let out a small Rodney like nervous laugh. "I mean it's amazing how when someone else's life is on the line, you actually don't care about yours." He smiled and John rolled his eyes a little.
"What'd you tell him?"
"Kolya? I just told him that he still needed her, needed her codes."
They were quiet for a beat.
"Well you saved Dr. Weir's life, so thank you."
"Why would you thank me for that?"
John hesitated for a second before responding. "Because she's a good leader. Atlantis needs her here…And I care about her."
Rodney looked a little surprised. "Uh, well, you're welcome."
They fell back into silence and a few minutes later John walked over to Elizabeth, to make sure she was alright.
