Even though it doesn't matter now, it's years later and Sam can still remember the tears sliding down Jessica's face when she told him, "I'm late."
He'd taken her into his arms and tried to calm her fears while his own were just building up inside.
The next day she went in to the clinic and it was official. They were pregnant.
That was a week before the fire. In one night Sam lost not just Jessica, but the baby they were meant to have. The only comfort he has is knowing that they are in heaven together.
