LbN: This was actually HarvardLover's challenge from the very first poll. I felt like writing it :). The elements were: Napoleon, white picket fences, and karaoke. Happy reading!

Guys' Night Out

"Still can't believe they kicked us out. So what do you think they do on their 'Girl's nights'?" Harry asked.

"Tonks is there," Ron said with a smile, "There's no telling."

"You ever think we'd be doing this, Harry?" Ron asked as they entered a Muggle restaurant called T.G.I.Fridays.

"Eating in Muggle London?" Harry asked.

"Nah, the whole family thing," Ron said, "Wife, kids, houses with white picket fences, and no imminent threat of death."

"No," Harry shook his head, "I was pretty much convinced at age fourteen that I wouldn't see my twenties…"

Ron grinned and paid for their first round of beers. As the bartender passed them to the men, Harry turned and grinned at Ron.

"So," he started, "How's little Napoleon doing?"

"Urggh," Ron rolled his eyes, "Don't start Harry. I can't believe we actually agreed on that name. He's fine; just started sleeping through the night."

"Good," Harry nodded, "We never thought Lily would start sleeping through the night."

"Yeah, but at least you were fully prepared for Lily," Ron grinned, "We had to completely readjust. We thought we were finished having kids after Hugo."

Harry laughed and then turned toward the stage. A woman was walking up to the microphone in heels that made very loud knocking noises as she walked.

"The karaoke contest will begin in five minutes!" she announced.

"I'll pay for the rest of the night's food and beer if you do it," Harry grinned at Ron.

"Throw in a ride to work on Monday and you've got a deal."

They shook on it, and five minutes later Ron was taking the stage looking very red in the face. He picked up the microphone (having been previously instructed on how to use it by Harry), and the first notes of a familiar (to Harry at least) song came on. Harry was deeply surprised that Ron had picked a slow song; that was suicide at these things…

Through the darkness, I can see your light
And you will always shine
And I can feel your heart in mine
Your face I've memorized, I idolize just you
I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
I've loved you for so long
And after all is said and done
You're still you
After all
You're still you
You walk past me
I can feel your pain
Time changes everything
One truth always stays the same
You're still you
After all
You're still you
I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
And I believe in you
Although you never asked me to
I will remember you
And what life put you through
And in this cruel and lonely world
I found one love
You're still you
After all
You're still you

Harry sat, flabbergasted, as Ron jumped off the stage to drunken applause. The redhead made his way back to his barstool, grinning the entire time at Harry's outraged expression.

"So that's why you took the bet! You never told me you could sing!"

"You never asked, mate!" Ron chuckled, and signaled the barkeep for another round.
