Not much to say about this one. I wanted to try my hand at a 100-word drabble, and it's really hard once you get into the 90's word count - I'm not sure whether to trust Microsoft Word or not. I actually don't really like it - but it's been bugging me for over six months and I wanted to write it.
I really have to start working on things that aren't one-shots...
Disclaimer – I wish I did.
All my life I have been hidden beneath my past - a person filled to the brim with secrets. I wander alone, whether out of comfort, or because that's how it is, I don't know.
A jade mask hides the gold that lay under me, trying so desperately to escape yet I cling to the lock so tightly it might break. The red hides the silver so perfectly, elegantly.
Not entirely sure I like the lies, I keep repeating them. As if they don't already know.
My entire life has been a masquerade, and I intend to keep it that way.
