Chapter Summery: A not so happy ever after
Ok I'm not saying I know time wise how long the quest to save the Oz took (or how long an annual is) but for this story lets just presume as so many have that an annual is the equivalent of one year. and for this I'm saying that the quest to save the Oz took roughly a year, so this story is set around three years later.
A not so Happily Ever After
In a fairytale world such as this a 'Happily Ever After' usual is the end of the story, making children feel warm and fuzzy about the world outside. But true to life a 'Happily Ever After' is usual just the end of one crises until the next turns up, for like any other fairytale there's more, giants, ogres, witches or bad guys with guns then the White Knights of the story can shake a stick (or nice ass in tight pants) at.
More chances for him to ride off into the sunset having rescued the damsel (or really over forgetful and clumsy guy) from danger once more, regaling the world (or hoping sed forgetful and clumsy guy glitches enough to) with story of heroic deeds.
But what happens when sed 'Happily Ever After' comes at a price?
At so high a price that the world chooses to forget it?
For we all know the outcome of the stories we hear, the hero wins, the bad guy is defeated and the world is at pease once again.
But what happens to those caught in the middle?
Those who had no choice?
Though who were born into to the 'wrong side' so to speak?
Where is their place in the stories told?
Where is their 'Happily Ever After'?
So what does happen when the lines between right and wrong blur, and the hero suddenly becomes the bad guy and the villain the victim?
Sometime you have to read between the lines to understand the full story, and maybe sometimes you need to figure it out for yourself.
