I'm sorry about the lack of update. My computer crashed with the story on it so I was working on piecing things together. Then my grandfather (who is like my dad since my dad was an absent asshole) died and it's been really hard to write or doing anything else for that matter. So after I spent my first Thanksgiving without him I decided to try to write so excuse any sloppiness with my writing. I'm working on wrapping this story up. I figure it's time now and you all deserve an ending. Thanks to everyone that's been reading and reviewing. I promise the next chapters to come will better.

I don't own anything except the concept and the random characters I come up with.

Tiniest Notion

I decide to skip class to visit Spencer.

The good thing about college is that no one follows up on you when you don't show up. Except for Grace, but that's because she hates being in class alone.

I've been to Spencer's job only once or twice because of her grandfather. Every time I come he usually tells security to frisk me for a long time and then makes a comment about common filth. I walk into Spencer's building and everyone nods in respect as I walk to the elevator.

Being Spencer's fiancée has its perks. One of them that almost everyone is unnecessarily nice at all times. The people that aren't nice avoid me entirely because they know who I am.

I get out of the elevator and walk towards Spencer's office. I'm greeted by Spencer's secretary, but before I can go in her secretary throws herself in front of the door.

"Spencer is in a very important meeting." I raise my eyebrows at her and I see a hint of fear in her eyes. Tiffany is fresh out of college. She's the daughter of one of Paula's friends so Spencer gave her a job. She's cute and kind of reminds me of Kristen Bell except she's timid. I watch as she avoids eye contact. I know she's torn in between upsetting me and upsetting Spencer.

If only she knew that either way, Spencer's screwed.

"Okay then." I say calmly. "I would appreciate it if you phoned her to let her know that her fiancée is here." She's still in front of me when I'm done talking so I nod my head towards her desk. She gets the hint and hurries to her desk. The second she picks up her phone the door opens and out strolls Spencer and CJ.

CJ's really making it hard not to hate her right now.

"Ashley?" Spencer's surprised, but she hugs me regardless. "Did we make plans that I forgot about?"

"Shame on you Spencer." CJ mocks from beside her. All it takes is one glare from Spencer and CJ raises her hands in mock surrender. "Okay I'm leaving." She starts walking away, but stops and turns. "We'll talk later about your decision." She walks away and I turn to see Spencer still watching her.

"What decision?" My question causes Spencer to bring her attention back to me.

"It's nothing you need to worry about." She takes my hand and pulls me into her office. "I'm surprised to see you here. Don't you have class?"

"Yeah, but I decided to skip and spend time with my honey." I wrap my arms around her neck and she chuckles.

"Your honey?" She smiles and it makes me forget why I was ever upset with her.

"Just shut up and kiss me."

"Will do." She leans forward and our lips connect. I respond instantly and soon we're having a full on make out session. She lightly bites my lips and leads us to a nearby wall. The second my back hits the wall she moves her lips to my neck and it takes everything in me not to moan too loud.

She pulls away and I'm about to ask why when I turn to my side and see her grandfather. If the red on his face is any indication I'm pretty sure he's not happy about what he saw.

"Is this what I pay you to do?" He looks me up and down with disgust. "The help?"

"Ashley's my fiancée. If you're having trouble remembering that I'll be sure to tell our wedding photographer to take a lot of pictures at our wedding so you will remember." Spencer fixes her clothing and then fixes my shirt.

I had no idea she had messed it up.

Grandfather Carlin sneers, but Spencer doesn't back down. She even grabs my and laces our figures.

"Like I'd go to that abomination of a wedding."

"I'm sorry to hear that. We will certainly miss your rude comments and the stick up your ass." I speak without thinking and instantly regret it. Grandfather Carlin is giving me the full on death stare. Spencer tries to suppress a laugh and squeezes my hand.

"What she means is that you will be missed." Spencer tries to clean it up for me. "Is there a reason that you came into my office without warning?"

"I needed to talk to you about something. It can wait until…she leaves."

"Well Ashley is not leaving so you can speak freely." It makes my heart flutter when Spencer takes up for me.

Judging by the look on his face, Grandfather Carlin does not have the same reaction to it.

"Alright then." He walks over to her desk and takes a seat in Spencer's chair. "I just wanted to tell you a story. It's the story of a young girl, let's call her Spencer." He takes out a cigar and decides to light it. "Spencer decided she wanted to play with the big boys." He takes a puff of his cigar. "She decided she wanted to bite the hand that fed her. The hand that gave her everything her spoiled selfish ass gave her. The hand that covered her ass when she decided she wanted to play tetherball with her girlfriend's head!" I can feel Spencer tense next to me and I place my hand on her shoulder in support. "The hand that knew she was guilty, but let her get off. She decides this is the person she wants to fuck over." He gets out of her chair and places his hands on the desk. "Do you know what happened to Spencer?"

We both stay silent. He throws his lit cigar into the trash and smoke slowly rises from it.

"Spencer got to spend forever with that stupid dead bitch because she got her fucking head chopped off." He walks towards Spencer and stands face to face with her. "The moral of the story? Don't mess with fire because it will fucking kill your spoiled ass."

"Never heard that moral before." Spencer responds calmly.

"It's a new spin." He pushes past the two of us as the small fire forms in the trash can. "I see all Spencer. I see all."

He leaves and I'm left with a million questions. Spencer just walks over to her office phone and makes a call.

"Tiffany there is a situation in my office. Please take care of it." She ends the call without waiting for a response and tosses me a smile. "Feel like having lunch?"

"Should I be worried about you?" We decided to eat at a small nearby restaurant. Spencer hasn't made any moves to explain what happened and I haven't pushed.

"No. I've eaten here before the food is great." She responds nonchalantly.

"You know that's not what I'm talking about. Your grandfather basically just threatened to chop your head off."

"He hates Mondays."

"Ashley." I sigh in frustration and Spencer reaches across the table to grab my hand. "Let's get married after Ruby graduates."

"I'm still in school." It's not that I don't want to get married to Spencer sooner. I would love to, but I have to finish school. "Why do you want to change the date?"

"I was thinking that after Rubi is out of school we could move." She pauses and I figure she's trying to gauge my reaction. "The four of us and the baby. I'm not saying we should move far, but I think we should start over. I want our new lives to be fresh and away from the drama." She sighs. "We've been through so much and I just want us…"

"Okay." My answer shocks her and I almost laugh at the surprised look on her face.

"Okay. But with conditions. We can't be more than a couple of hours away from Kyla and our family."

"Rowan has to be okay with it. We can't just uproot his life like that without talking to him."

"It has to have good colleges around there incase Rubi decides to go."

"Of course."

"And no loose ends."

"What do you mean?"

"We are not running away. If we leave it's because we want to. That means that this thing with your grandfather needs to be settled."

"Of course."

"We have to figure out this whole CJ thing because I have to admit it bothers me."

"Not a problem."

"And we need to fix things with Amy." This is where Spencer gets quiet. No one really talks to Amy or about Amy anymore. She kind of disappeared from the entire family. No matter how far she goes I know Spencer can find her. There isn't a doubt in my mind that Spencer knows where Amy is. The look on her face only confirms it.

"Ashley. I don't think she wants to talk to either of us."

"I don't care. This triangle we have going on has to stop. We're getting married." I lean across the table and make sure to keep eye contact with Spencer. "I want everything to be okay."

"And it will be. I promise." She leans across and kisses me.

This is one promise I know she won't break.
