Continuation of season 5 finale.

Disclaimer: I own the story, that's it.

"The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn't understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again... And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart."

Lucas Scott read his own words. His mind wandering. How could he have written this, knowing that Lindsey was going to read it? He knew he had always loved Peyton Sawyer. He had written this unknowingly, the words flowing through his fingers to the keyboard. Peyton Sawyer was his comet. And someday, she would return to him. And someday was today.

Lucas Scott sat at the airport, scrolling numbers on his blackberry phone. Peyton's number just kept coming up in his mind. "Just dial it." He said to himself, clutching the two airport tickets to Las Vegas in his hand. He clicked on her number and dialed it, smiling when he saw the picture of her he had taken a long time ago. When they were together. And, if fate would have it, today they would be together again. Lucas knew in his heart that she was the one for him. And this was it; today he would have forever with Peyton Sawyer.

He closed his eyes as she answered. "Hello?" She asked, and Lucas smiled to the phone. It made him happy just hearing her sweet voice. "Hey it's me. I'm at the airport and I've got two tickets to Las Vegas. Let's get married tonight." He could feel Peyton smiling on the other end. "Oh my god. I'll be there in 5 minutes." She said, hanging up her cell phone and jumping around hysterically, skipping happily to her car. She was finally getting him back.

Lucas smiled contently as he lounged in his airport seat, readily waiting his new fiancées arrival. When she walked through those airport doors, beautiful and smiling, he realized that he had waited his whole life for this one moment. The moment Lucas and Peyton would finally be together again. The only moment of clarity he had had in three years.

She walked closer to him. A smile on her face as he stood up from his airport seat, and she finally reached him. She smiled up at him as he tucked a loose strand of her silky blonde hair behind her ear. "I missed you." Lucas whispered, despite the noise, he couldn't see anyone else when he was with her. Peyton smiled up at him. "I missed you too, Lucas Scott." She whispered back, looking into his deep sea blue eyes.

"Marry me." He whispered and she smiled, nodding. "I thought you'd never ask." She said, and Lucas smiled warmly as her soft lips touched his. That kiss meant more to them then anything else in the world. In that moment, nothing else mattered. All that did was that they were finally back together again.

And in that moment, Lucas realized that boy wouldn't have to wait his whole life for his comet to return to him. Because it already had. And it was here to stay.
