Curiosity Killed Jack

Jack was headed to the kitchen for a well earned snack. All the running around getting shot by aliens was making him hungry. He was about to turn into the kitchen when their breathless voices in the room across the hall.

"Okay. Come here you."

"Are you sure this okay?"

"I'm sure, big boy. Come right here."

"Ah, Rose. Oh there, that's good."

"Wait, let me get settled."

"There, oh, oh God, Rose!"

"Doctor. Easy, easy, there! Just there."

"Oh, Rose are you all right?'

"Oh, yeah. Perfect...there! How are you?"

"Just perfect! Great."

"Oh, stop!"

"It's not right, turn just a little, there that's it. Right there!"

"Are you sure?"

"Oh, yes. Trust me on this Doctor. It's right!"

"Well, if you say so. What about here?"

"Yes, that's it. That's much, much better."

"See, I told you."

"Is it hard?"

"Can you hold it for awhile?"

"Sure. No problem."

"Oh, that's perfect. Just there."

"Can you garb it?"

"Yea hold on."

Jack had stood there for several minutes listening to the blow-by-blow chatter from within the room. He was; well, surprised didn't quite cover it. Not shocked, not really. He'd seen too much been too many places in his world and others to be shocked. Stunned maybe, yea that was it. He was stunned by the intimate conversation he was overhearing. The Doctor and Rose? Was it possible? He knew they liked each other, but he didn't know they told each other.

Taking his chance, he peaked around the corning, frighten on what he might saw. Or what he didn't see.

The Doctor was on the bottom. He had his shirt off and was standing with his feet spread wide braced against and for extra weight bearing capabilities. Rose was barefoot, but since she was standing on top of the Doctor's shoulders it made pretty good sense. The Doctor had his hands firmly wrapped around her leg's calf muscle, helping her balance.

The woman on top was facing the wall, were a stack of shelves happened to be.

"There. Hold on, it might be heavy."

"C'mon, Rose. I can't hold on much longer."

"Oh come on. I'm not that heavy. Just another second."

Looking over, The Doctor caught sight of Jack standing there, mouth-gaping open with a dumbstruck look on his face.

"Oh, hi, Jack."

"What the hell are you two doing?"

"Oh, hey." Rose looked over and down at her friend from her elevated position. "We're just getting a box, which the Doctor - god knows how - got it on the top shelf. " She plopped the box down with a '"thump" and she started to bend down to dismount from her friend's shoulders. Jack broke out of his surprised deer-in-the-headlights stance and hurried over to help her get down safely to the ground.

Once on the ground, Rose sat down on the floor and the Doctor sat down beside her. "Thanks."

"No problem." She said and smiled.

"So what are you doing here pretty boy?" The Doctor asked.

Jack shook his head, "Just curious. Have fun you two!" He said and left. He could hear Rose and the Doctor laughing hysterically behind him. He shook his head. He would never understand those two.
