Damn that Jacob Black.

Even with the distance between them with him in Canada and her here in La Push, she still dreamed of that mortal nothing, Bella Swan. Spite and jealousy roared through her veins that his dedication towards Bella wasn't pointed towards her. Oh, she didn't want Jacob. She never had. She was simply envious that he could feel such emotional connection to one who had ripped out his heart and spat on it. She could never feel that dedicated to Sam again. Not after what he did with Emily. And Emily! That traitor! They used to be close, they really did, but now Leah can't help but resent Emily for being the object of the love that Sam so cruely took from her. Even though she now knew of the imprinting process and the deep emotional pull, she couldn't help but be resentful of Emily, who had more love than she could ever dream of.

Tears of bitterness poured down her eyes as she turned over on her pillow and punched the mattress. Her fist bounced back with tremendous force and nearly hit her in the face. Stupid new abilities. She was now Leah Clearwater, now with Super Werewolf Freakiness! Joy.

Wiping her eyes and turning to the time on her alarm clock, she realized that she had slept longer than she thought. It was time for her shift with the boys. She opened her bedroom door as silently as she could and roused Seth, who would be running with her. She still couldn't believe that he chose to remain in contact with the leech lover and her family. That he was going to the wedding was a sucker punch in itself. She shook him awake and led him out the door into the woods, where she shucked her mortal body and worries, and concentrated solely on the pounding of her paws on the ground in front of her and the yelping of Seth behind her, ignoring the ever present thoughts of a certain heartbroken werewolf in Canada.

Damn that Jacob Black.
