The shortest goodbye ever.

"You're leaving aren't you?" Karin asked. The young shinigami beside her nodded. "I was called back. It seems your brother's friend Orihime Inoue has been kidnapped or deflected to the other side."

"So you are leaving." Karin asked again. Toshiro raised his eyebrow slightly. "I already said I am, why ask again?" Karin eyed him from the corner of her eyes. "I had to make sure." Toshiro nodded skeptically. "I am sure."

"I am! I mean what if you were lying and just saying that you were leaving so you wouldn't have to be around kids like me." Karin turned to face the boy beside her. Toshiro sat on the railing, giving her the weirdest look imaginable. "And why would that be a problem. If it was true of course." Toshiro spoke.

"Because, well, I don't know." Karin pushed her bottom lip out slightly. "I don't have to answer." She spoke deftly.

"You brought it up." Toshiro stated. "Yeah, but I don't want to answer an elementary student like yourself." Karin pushed herself of the railing sliding down the hill slightly. "I am no elementary student!" Toshiro screamed on queue.

"Whatever, I am not telling you why…" Karin climbed the small distance she slid. "I mean it isn't like I am going to miss you or anything…" Karin jumped over the railing and back on the cement. She paused for a second. "I didn't mean to say that."

"Oh, so you're going to miss me?" Toshiro spun around to face her. He tilted his head slightly and smirked. "I never said that." Karin muttered. Toshiro walked behind Karin and hugger her. "So what are you going to miss of me?" Toshiro spoke smugly.

"Nothing." Karin blushed at the touch. Toshiro, wanting to test his boundaries placed his head on her shoulder. He whispered in her ear, "Are you going to miss my personality?"

"W-what personality?" Karin stuttered. Toshiro pulled her closer into him. "What about my dashing good looks?" He whispered again.

"Y-you're b-butt ugly." She stammered. Toshiro let go of her and spun her so she was facing him. "Then why are you going to miss me?" He questioned the blushing girl.

"Because you're my friend." She smiled. Toshiro stared at her for a second before replying. "What if I want to be more then friends?" He asked.

Karin scanned his face for any hint of a joke or mocking gesture. "Depending. Are you telling me the truth or lying?"

"The truth." His face didn't change; it only grew slightly more serious. "I am not going to lie about this."

"Then, I guess…it wouldn't be so bad." She smiled. "Good, because I am going to kiss you, then leave, and then show up at some later date. The day I come back, I will never know when that is, but I will come back to see you and kiss you again." He wrapped his arms around her waist. "So can you wait for me?" Karin nodded.

Toshiro pulled her closer to him and placed a soft kiss on the lips. Pulling away he smiled, "This is where I disappear." Karin still in a daze nodded. "Bye." Toshiro gave her another kiss. "Bye." Toshiro disappeared like he said. Karin sighed to herself, 'I wish he didn't have to leave, but I will wait, if only because his kisses are addicting.'
