The door of the Cullen home opened Esme looked up from the couch.

"Good Evening Dr. Cullen, thank you for making a home visit." Esme said standing to greet Carlisle, a smile dancing on her lips.

"Well you said you were feeling like you had a base case of something."

"Yeah, I think I've got it bad."

Carlisle laughed and pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead.

"Ohh Doctor," Esme said still in the embrace. "I don't think doctors are supposed to kiss their patients."

Carlisle opened his mouth about to speak, but Esme put a finger to his lips and held him at arms length.

"Ssh doctor, Don't sugar coat it. Give it to me straight." Carlisle smiled as Esme stared at him.

Her hands flew to her chest, and with a dramatic sigh she pleaded

"Doctor, Doctor give me the news."

She held back a smile and Carlisle placed his hands on either side of her face, smirk across his own.

"Well, Mrs. Cullen. I am sorry to say that I have no clue what is wrong with you. But I have to say that I think that I have a bad case of loving you."

Esme smiled and put her arms around his neck. Carlisle picked her up bridal style and she looked into his eyes.

"Bad case?" She questioned. "I think it is a very good case."

Carlisle chuckled and put his lips on hers.

"I love you." Esme said when he pulled away.

"I love you more than words could say." he replied and carried his wife upstairs.
