5 Years Later
Harry Potter was standing on Platform 9¾ invisible to everyone. Every year since he became the High Lord of Hogwarts, he would come down and watch all these families send their children off to his school. As Harry looked over the crowd, he thought about the last five years.
He had done the impossible, he had defeated Lord Voldemort. Though he had a lot of help, it was his own magic that finally did it. Harry and Ginny did have to spend four days as guests of Poppy Pomfrey.
The Army of Light had gotten off really easy. No one died, and the worse injuries were magical exhaustion by many of the soldiers of light including Albus, Minerva, Seamus, Dean, Susan, Filius, Cho, Blaise, Remus, and Alastor Moody. Thanks to the power shunt from the castle herself, they had all been treated and released within a day of entering the hospital.
Ron Weasley had to have his right leg re-grown. It had been blown off by a lucky curse from Bellatrix Lestrange. His wife, Hermione Weasley, never left his side.
Thanks to the large scale war that had been fought, Hogwarts was in need of serious repair. Because of this, Harry and Albus had decided to relocate lessons until after the first of the year. All the students either went home or to friend's houses. Hogwarts House was reopened and used as a day school for the 5th, 6th, and 7th year students. They met with Professors once a week for their lessons. The 1st thru 4th year students met at the Ministry of Magic where they were taught by the Apprentices.
Over the next five years, Harry and Ginny helped guide the Wizarding World into an era of peace and prosperity. Arthur Weasley continued to work for the Minister as her Vice-Minister, Percy was his executive assistant.
Molly continued her role as School Morale Officer at Hogwarts until Harry and Albus asked her to become Headmistress of Hogwarts Primary School. The primary school had been Ginny and Minerva's brain child. It gave all magical children a chance to go to school and learn basic reading and writing and magical history at age 5.
Bill & Fleur continued to work for Gringotts Wizarding Bank, They bought a track of land only a few miles from the Burrow and had a home built. They had a set of 4 year old twin boys named Bilius and Trevor. They had their father's hair and their mother's eyes.
Charlie continued to work at Hogwarts part time while running an animal habitat sanctuary inside the Forbidden Forest. The centaurs worked with him quite a bit. He was still single, but was always on the lookout for a possible future Mrs. Weasley.
Percy and Penny married shortly after the battle. Penny continued to work at Hogwarts and completed her Healer training. She specialized in spell damage and Quidditch injuries, much too Poppy's relief.
Fred & George married their long time girlfriends Alicia Spinet and Angelina Johnson two years after the end of the war. As a marriage gift, Harry and Ginny, bought the new couples Zonko's Joke Shop and offered them a site on the Hogwarts grounds to build their new headquarters. Weasley Wizarding Wheezes now had locations all over the world including Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Salem, Los Angeles, Paris, Johannesburg, Japan, Berlin, and Buenos Aires. Though most of their days were now spent running the business, they still enjoyed inventing new items for their shop.
One of the conditions for their use of Hogwarts grounds was that they had to hire number of students each year to work. This gave the students pocket money, and Fred & George cheaper labor.
Like they had done all their lives, they continued to do everything together, something that their wives accepted soon after their marriage. Because of this fact, both Alicia and Angelina were 7 months pregnant with their first children; thank god they were not twins.
Ron & Hermione Weasley continued at Hogwarts as Apprentices. However soon after the war, Harry offered them the job of their lives in conjunction with their apprenticeship duties. Ron & Hermione, with the aide of Mackrack and Griphook, started the Hogwarts Foundation. The foundation was charged with merging magical knowledge and muggle technology for all areas of life. The foundation also worked from the Hogwarts grounds and was by far the single largest employer of 6th and 7th students thru internships and paid positions.
Severus Snape, Potion's Master extraordinaire finally got his date with Professor Sinistra. They were still dating and rumor had it that Severus had asked Albus on advice on how to propose.
Hagrid continued to live on the Hogwarts grounds, but did so as a fully qualified wizard. It took months of tutoring by Minerva, Albus, Severus, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Harry, but he did it. He was dating Olympe Maxine of Beauxbatons Academy, but stated that he would never leave his home.
Remus and Nymphadora Tonks Lupin were married 4 months after the war ended. Harry and Ginny served and best man and maid of honor and one set of godparents for their children that came a year later. They were twins, a boy they named Teddy, after Tonks' dad, and a girl Carol Lily, after Remus' mum. The other godparents were Ron & Hermione.
Both children were Metamorphmagi, and had incredible thirst for knowledge. It was so bad in fact that the only people who had more thirst were their dad, Aunt Hermione, and Uncle Percy.
Remus and Dora continued to teach at Hogwarts and bought a small house in Hogsmeade where they lived. Both of the children had not inherited Lycanthropy from their father or their mother's clumsiness.
Albus and Minerva Dumbledore had so far lived up to their part of the bargain they made with Harry. Both were alive and healthy and very happy. They became the unofficial grandparents for an entire generation of children that they spoiled rotten. The Lupin children were normally seen with Grandpa Albus eating lemon drops and listening to stories about their parents and the Marauders.
Albus was planning on stepping down from his position on the Wizengamot at the end of this year. Theodore Zabini, Blaise Zabini's father was his choice to replace him. Albus had no plans to step down as Headmaster and was told by Harry that he would not be allowed to as long as he was healthy; his wife was in the same boat.
Harry and Ginny split their time between Hogwarts and Lionfire Hall and spent every summer traveling the world. Harry still attended ICW meetings, and Gringotts meetings, but life had fallen into a normal routine.
It was during their last vacation that Harry learned that he was going to be a father by early spring. When they returned, they found out that Ron & Hermione were also expecting.
As Harry looked out over the crowd, he spotted Albus standing on the side of the platform invisible like Harry. Harry flamed next to him and greeted him and Fawkes, who was as always standing on Albus' shoulder.
"Another year Albus."
Albus smiled at his grandson, "Yes it is. Another group of children to explore the wonderful world we live in Harry. And we owe it all to you."
"You know how I hate it when you say that grandfather."
Albus was about to respond when his cellular phone went off, as did Harry's. Both men looked at their screens and saw the same message,
YOU ARE GOING TO MISS THE LUNCH DOBBY & WINKY HAVE PREPARED! COME HOME!
Love Min & Gin
Both men laughed and with a quick turn, both men were gone.
After they left, a small young man stepped thru the barrier onto Platform 9¾. He had no real friends because he was an orphan and did strange things.
He was carrying his trunk to the train when two other boys stopped and helped him load his truck. "Hello, my name is William Smith and this is my friend Bruce Armstrong. Are you starting Hogwarts too?"
The young man nodded his head, "Yeah. My name is Doug Grissom, and I really didn't believe any of this was real when that white owl dropped that letter in my lap. All of the other kids just laughed at me, but when I saw Diagon Alley, I knew it was real. I just hope I can learn enough things to defend myself from the other boys in the orphanage."
William and Bruce looked at each for a moment before deciding on a course of action. Bruce spoke first, "Doug, I think you should tell someone about the way you are treated there. We have laws that outlawed that kind of behavior after Voldemort was beaten."
"Ok, who do you think I should talk too?"
William answered, "That's easy anyone of these people." William handed Doug a number of Chocolate Frog Cards. As Doug looked thru them, the other two boys walked him into a carriage on the train. The cards William gave him were:
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
Order of Merlin, First Class,
Founder, Order of the Phoenix
Headmaster, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry
President, Hogwarts Advisory Council
Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards
Chief Warlock, Wizengamot of Great Britain
Considered by many the greatest wizard of modern times, Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel.
Professor Dumbledore is married to Current Head of Gryffindor House Minerva McGonagall Dumbledore
Professor Dumbledore enjoys chamber music and tenpin bowling and spending time with his extended family
Harry James Potter
High Lord of Hogwarts
Known as 'The Boy Lived' and 'The Man Who Defeated The Dark Lord'
Lord Gryffindor is known for his defeat of Tom Marvolo Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort, when he was 1 year old ad again at the age of 16 years old as well as owning Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In his youth, Lord Gryffindor was the youngest Seeker in a century and played on the Gryffindor House team.
Lord Gryffindor is known for doing what was necessary to help children be all that they can be, even if that means removing them from abusive families.
Lord Gryffindor is married to his wife, Lady Gryffindor Ginevra Molly Potter
Their official residence is Hogwarts Castle, Scotland
Doug looked at both cards before deciding that he would to this Lord Gryffindor person "Hey William, Bruce; where would I find this Lord Gryffindor person at?"
With a sudden burst of flames, four people appeared in flames: Lord Gryffindor Harry James Potter, Lady Gryffindor Ginevra Molly Potter, Professor Minerva McGonagall Dumbledore, and Headmaster Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
"Now, what can we do for you Mr. Grissom?" Harry asked as he sat down across from the young man.
'God, I love Magic' was Doug's last thought before he began to the four adults his life's story. Little did he know that he would see even more impressive magic when Harry and Albus went with him to his orphanage for the last time.
